Windows 7 Taskbar Items Pinner is a free portable tool from door2windows that allows you to pin files, folders & webpages to your Windows 7 taskbar. Normally, the Pin to Taskbar option only works with EXE files but this tool enables you to pin any file of any extension, any folder & even webpages.

How to use:

Just run the tool, and select the pre-defined items that you want to pin. It will pin them instantly.

If you want to pin a custom file/folder, then follow the steps below:
  1. Click on the ... button near Path and select File if you want to pin a file or select Folder if you want to pin a folder.

  2. Click on the ... button near Icon and select the icon of the file or folder.

  3. If you want to change the icon no, just type your desired icon no in the textbox before the ... button.

  4. Click Add Item.

It will now pin the file/folder you selected.

If you want to pin a webpage, then follow the steps below:
  1. Type the full path of the webpage in the textbox near Path.

  2. Click on the ... button near Icon and select the icon of the file or folder.

  3. If you want to change the icon no, just type your desired icon no in the textbox before the ... button.

  4. Click Add Item.

It will now pin the webpage.

I have a problem, when I changed some registry keys pinned items does not appear to my taskbar anymore, and when I unpin pinned items I can't re-pin them anymore, I have those modified registry keys here though, can you check these out, and point me to that registry key which causes this problem:

Doesn't work for me.
Windows 7, 64x, running as admin.

It says that it adds them, and it thinks that it adds them, but nothing happens on my taskbar.

Hi, I tried running this application but it gave me an error window that says:

"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If click Quit, the application will close immediately. ------ Access to path 'C:\Windows\W7TIP\' is denied."

and the details say:
"See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box."
