How dare you make me feel my own feels?! Poor Rachel... What happened to her was messed up

Gosh, now I feel sad... I don't like acknowledging that scene! I'm currently re-addicted to animorphs, I don't think I gave Rachel's character enough credit the first read through. She's pretty awesome.

This is so wonderfully drawn and coloured, you've really given it an energy. It's always great to see your stuff :D

The Ellimist says that to Rachel! Poor thing!

Oh, man, Animorphs....I haven't thought about that series in years. I remember absolutely loving it in elementary school, though I'm not sure if I ever finished it. The art is fantastic!!

It's worth finishing, if you haven't! It's really a fantastic series through and through. ;v;

So many feels.  I remember how much weight that scene added to the final book.  Definitely a final dose of reality in a series that had a surprising number of reality checks for a kids' series.

Love what you did with the blue eyes Kiri.  That was a brilliant stroke.

Behind the silly covers, Animorphs was a far better series than most people realize or give it credit for being. It was really dark for a kids' series and only got progressively darker, and I could go on and ON AND ON about how it touches on a lot of subjects far better than its better-remembered contemporaries did. But I digress... XD Thank you!

Lol.  Yes indeed, a lot of the truly good books/shows from childhood came from creators being unafraid of broaching real subjects with the audience.  It made the stories pop in a big way, and is probably why so many aspiring writers just happen to fondly remember the series.

I still pick one up to read from time to time, though a good chunk of my collection is in storage somewhere.  I believe you showed me a place where they're all posted for free as PDF's online, but if so I have long since lost the link.  Not that I have time to dive through Animorphs these days, but it's nice to know the material is out there for every kid/person whose library doesn't carry 54 books to a kids' series from the 90's XD

The unfortunate thing is that while the gravity of the series was always there, some books better demonstrated it than others, and it was a bit hit/miss as to which book people picked up and remembered. There was a lot of dumb silliness and camp mixed in too, and the series was so monstrously long that I feel very few people stuck with it to the end. A bummer!

But yeah, I'm pretty much always rereading some part of the series. My stash is at my parents', but I've got the PDFs, yup. If you ever have need of them, don't hesitate to ask. ;)

No worries Kiri, I know who to go to for my animorphs fix XD
As for the inconsistent weight of the series, I think that's common for kids' series/shows.  There are shows on Cartoon Network right now that are kind of the same.  They get deep and dramatic, but a good chunk (half or more) of the episodes are just hijinks and general life-lessons that the older viewers have seen a thousand times.  Makes the older viewer choosier with what they watch in my experience.
