He also created a lot of classes about colors theory but they cost a little
What I do the most is to apply contrast a lot. If the overall mood of my painting is quite warm ( red, yellow, and so on) then, shadows will tend to be cold ( blue, purple ).
If my overall mood is cold, then my shadow will be warm
Colors tend to come quite naturally for me, so it's a bit hard to really explain how I use them, to be honest, I'm sorry!
You can still try by painting in black and white, and add colors after. Atey Ghailan made a great tutorial on this subject on youtube !
