Where Two Worlds Meet
He locked his hands around his neck and tried to focus his eyes on the light that illuminated the water from above; he reached out and closed one eye.
"Seems so close," he murmured, yet the sky was so furiously far above his head the mere thought of it made his head swirl.
Taisho's tail whipped as he spun around gracefully and stirred up some sand that colored the water a muddy grey before it settled. He'd been gone for quite some time now; someone would eventually start to worry about him unless they already had.
"Yikes," a childlike chuckle escaped his lips and he rubbed a hand against the heart shaped spot on his forehead. "Well, better late than never," he said more to himself than to the empty surroundings although a drifting clown fish or a mean old crab may have been listening.
His hands stroked some algae as he swam by; they tickled his palms in a pleasant way, felt just like home.
