My name is Diana and I am a soon-to-be programmer student from Romania. My work consists of digital paintings, traditional drawings and emoticons. Feel free to browse around, drop a comment, say hello - I promise I don't bite
I really like your painting. The background is just perfect - brings out a really great atmostphere. You've chosen a lovely colour pallete. Her expression conveys a lot of emotion and I love the details of the face and the bounciness of the hair.
There is a single thing I would like to point out. To me, the right arm looks out of place; had it been taken out, the character would've been proportionate and aestethically pleasing altoghether. The shoulder is a bit too high and the upper arm too short, so somehow it feels like the entire arm doesn't belong to her. I have nothing immediate to suggest, except moving it lower, making it a little thicker. If you feel fit to do so, my guess is sketching a few new positions for the arm - to see which one could work better for her body - should be alright.
I hope this helps <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/a/a…" width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="349" title="Aww"/> Keep up the good work and have a great year! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="37" height="25" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="600" title=""/>
And you captured that feeling alright <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/g/g…" width="17" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="100" title="Giggle"/> I really like her expression. It gives out a lot, which is definitely not easy to do with just a pencil and some paper. Thumbs up for that.
I also really like the background. I love how it's full of little details and not even the sky is left blank; the only thing that might be bothersome to the eye is, in my opinion, that it's swallowing the character. She seems quite well constructed herself, except her shading is too soft compared to what's going on behind. I suggest using a darker pencil to darken her head, facial features and maybe her neck and shoulders if you see fit.
I hope I helped a little bit <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/d/d…" width="21" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="574" title="I am a dummy!"/> Keep up the good work <:
