So I pretty much never use this journal thing, and I've been terrible about putting photos and stuff on here as it's a lot easier to add multiple photos on facebook... that being said I'm hoping to get some more stuff on here post Colossalcon.
I'll be debuting essentially 3 new costumes, one of them is a costume I did a while ago but don't have any photos of (kind of like Yuan... I should fix that at some point), Guy from Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword. The other two are actually brand-spanking new: Shadar and Oliver from Ni No Kuni. I'm super excited about these, mostly because Oliver will actually be cosplayed by my partner, Jordan. This is the first time he's cosplaying and I think he's looking forward to it, it's kind of hard to tell. Regardless, I'm supped-duper excited about and I've been wanting to do a Ni No Kuni cosplay since I started playing it about a year and a half ago.
So you can expect to see (hopefully) lots of new awesome photos of these three outfits. Zelos is also going with me, so there should be some new ones with him too, likely with some new party characters since I don't believe there's a Sheena in our group since droguza isn't finished with her yet.

I've also been busy making lots of props for people as my etsy shop has actually been getting pretty steady business. Lord knows I'm not making any real money off of it (especially when I have to ship things to Canada D: but it's still a lot of fun and very good practice for doing all sorts of things that may become relevant in my future cosplays. Not to mention, it's keeping me busy, which is definitely a blessing and a curse.
On a similar note, my 3D life counter sales have trailed off a bit (though I did just get a new request this week), but that's ok because I only have so much time to make things.

Last fun news, the Cleveland Zeppelin Union is doing Parade the Circle in Cleveland the Saturday after next which should be lots of fun, and I should have some more nice pictures from that.

So I guess the moral of the story is, expect some new photos up some time next week!

So I'm pretty sure about 2 people ever read these journal entries I write, but frankly I don't care. I'm only really writing because I'm sitting at work waiting for these people to check out and have nothing better to do anyway.

So, as far as my deviant world is concerned, things are pretty great right now! I've have a lot of requests for life counters in the past few days, so I'm in the process of making some money (woo hoo!) and I finally got my first request for one of my amigurumi dolls (P.S. I just recently discovered what that word is so now it makes more sense...) and it's a Fire Emblem one at that! I'm almost done with it so I'll post pictures when it's finished, along with all of the 3D counters.

Cosplay stuff is also going well. Ohayocon was a few weeks ago now and I debuted my Tenzin cosplay which went over very well and I totally want to wear it all the time now. Next time I'd rather do a spring-summer con instead of a winter one because now my head gets cold. Also, I finally have a Kariya wig so I look more like a real Kariya cosplay instead of a lazy one. Not that being lazy is inappropriate for Kariya. I'm in the process of making a new pair of wings for him, since people apparently think I have the greatest reaper wings ever so they asked me to do a tutorial and since I'm awful at taking progress/process shots I'm just making a new pair and trying to remember that I need to be taking pictures while I'm doing it. It's actually not such a bad thing either because I've wanted to redo the way the wings attach to me for a while anyway because tying elastic together is not so good, especially when the ends are constantly fraying and I have to cut them off of myself. And with my new method they'll be more secure on my body anyway so they should be more comfortable too, and potentially easier to put on.
And in related news, those of you who have seen me in cosplay are probably aware that I have a Red XIII-tribe tattoo on my shoulder. Since I'm not often shirtless (although those of you who go to Colossalcon have seen otherwise) you may not know that I also have a small pair of wings that are Tales of Symphonia-style on my back. I've been contemplating for some time about expanding them, because they're pretty tiny (it was my first tattoo so I wasn't really prepared to go for anything big) and what I'm thinking of doing is having them morph into big reaper wings. It'll be a little while yet before I have it done, frankly I'm not even sure who I'm going to go to for it since the guys that did my other tatoos don't live anywhere near me. I've thought about going down to Wooster because I really like the Moving Pictures folks, but that's also not very close. Anyway, to make a long story short, I really want to expand my tattoo but it's probably not happening for a while.

Let's see, next up we have video games! This category really amounts to two things: (a) Fire Emblem Awakening comes out tomorrow! And I don't have work tomorrow! And I already have to drive down to Fairlawn to pick up beads for these silly counters! HUZZAH! (b) Ni No Kuni is the most adorable game ever created. And it's just awesome, to boot. The only real complaint I have about it is that the battle interface is dumb and makes it very hard for you to move your character and cycle through the battle menu at the same time, so you have to stand around and get pummeled while you try to bring up your "Spells" menu. Also, I wish the familiar recruitment wasn't quite as random. I think that the more times you've defeated a particular enemy, the more likely it should be that you can woo them at the end of battle. That or it should increase your chances of wooing them when you've been given a quest that requires you to have a specific species. Otherwise you wander around the same place for hours at a time fighting the same enemies without any reward and just get mad at the game (that happened to Jordan more than I). Otherwise, awesome game and totally cute ^_^
And now that I'll have Fire Emblem, I can let Jordan have the PS3 when the two of us are home at the same time.

Um... I've kind of run out of things to tell you.... so if you're one of the few people who actually read all of this, you get a psychic hug from me *squeeze*

So... this in no way negates the other ideas I had, I still want to/will do all of those, however I'm thinging ahead for Ohayocon this coming January (since that's the next one for me) an trying to figure out what to do. Since none of my fellow cosplayers who I'm closest with (...well really there's only two anyway XD) will be there, I don't have anyone to really pair up with so I feel like I can branch out a bit more. On the other hand, I still want to do something where there will be other folks around to take pictures with. Fortunately, the usual AA group will b there, so naturally Edgeworth will be coming. Also, I discovered a few Fire Emblem coslayers will be attending, so Tibarn will likely be making an appearance (because he wears more clothing than any of my other FE characters).

So that leaves the new one that I want to do... well, Heihachi would be awesome but no one would know who I am. The Journeyer, while pretty, isn't really what I want to do. Armbrust is silly because I won't have Mercredi with me. And Krom doesn't make sense because that game won't be out yet.
So here are my latest thoughts, I've always wanted to do something from Avatar/Korra and we all know ho neurotic I am about cosplaying common/main characters so I didn't want to do Zuko, Sokka, Mako o Bolin... and I'm not really in the mood to be crossplaying with this series. I'm also not really willing to jump off the deep end in obscuriy and go for someone like Piandao or Cabbage Man, nor am I round enough to play Iroh (though later in life I would love to do that :-D). I considered Amon but I don't really want to be terriying, and Tarlok doesn't look all that interesting so he's out. Which really left me with one clear choice: Tenzin (avatar.wikia.com/wiki/Tenzin)... it helps that I love airbender robesd XD
Yes, I plan to shave y hea for i because I think bald caps look aweful if you don't know how to do it right... which I don't. It'll be just like swim team in high school XD

I'm pretty pumped about this so I hope it works out ^_^
So I haven't made any new costumes in a while and I would really like to get back to doing that, because although I've been sewing some... I haven't been doing much. Honestly, it's mostly been sewing patches onto volunteer shirts for the NPS, which is really boring and monotonous, but at least I got to make some money sewing. The Etsy shop is going kinda slow, so I haven't had much of an outlet (and my current order is giving me a headache, but that's neither here nor there.
Ok, so enough rambling, I want to have some new cosplays! So here are my thoughts, please comment.

1. Journeyer (Journey) - haha, that description is probably useless XD I'm talking about the ps3 game Journey. In other words, one of these guys: fav.me/d4u0884
That game was beautiful, and I love the design of the race that you play as. I've already made a few little journeyer dolls and I thought it would be awesome to have the cape. Long story short, I'll probably have a Journey-inspired rad & gold cape to wear for... things, or just because, as it'll probably turn out, but I doubt I'll put together the whole deal to actually properly cosplay as one of them. Yay pretty things!

2. Auditor Armbrust (Kiddy Grade) - OMG I LOVE THIS SHOW WHY DOES NO ONE KNOW ABOUT IT. I'm mostly doing this because I FINALLY HAVE A PARTNER. Which in a series that's all dependent on partners, I'd feel silly doing without one. ANyway, he looks like this: www.kiddygrade.net/profiles/ar…
I plan on making this pretty much for sure, assuming thecuttingroomfloor still wants to come as my partner (static.zerochan.net/Pfeilspitz…). Probably wearing this to Tekko, because I don't think it's worth dressing up as him when he's fairly nondescript and no one will know who I am anyway. Also, I just discovered that the voice actors for both Lumiere and Eclair (the main characters) are going to be at Shutocon in Lansing, MI and I TOTALLY WANT TO GO NOW! It figures I'd go from being the guy who knows nothing about voice actors to a total fanboy over something like this. If we went and dressed up as these two I could die happy x.x

3. Hayashida Heihachi (Samurai 7) - I found a Katsushiro at Tekko last year, which made me realize at least a few people are aware of this show, so I got really excited. He's a redhead and pretty adorable, and he's a skilled machinist and swordsman to boot. So this may or may not actually happen some day but hopefully. www.cosplayhouse.com/images/D/…

4.Krom (Fire Emblem: Awakening) - So I definitely want to do a new FE costume, and I figured with Awakening coming out in 2013 it would be a good opportunity for something new. I really like Krom's character design, a lot more than most of the other male characters I found. This is a way-preliminary idea though because I generally don't cosplay as a character I'm unfamiliar with. Also, this will be one of the few main characters I'll have a costume for (although I guess Edgeworth pretty much ended my *only-obscure-characters* streak. Anywho, here's what he looks like: images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__c…

So yeah, I know people still want me to make a Shi-Long Lang costume... I'm not sure if I'll ever actually get around to doing that, but it would be fun. And of course there's plenty of others I'd love to do someday like some general character class from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, or Ruby Rhod from The Fifth Element. I'm slowly realizing that a lot of these things will probably never happen but I like to keep the hope that many of them some day will. Well, if you have any ideas or suggestions, let me know!

Hey folks, one of my followees, ChibiSilverWings is having a little raffle for some of her sculpey figures. He makes some awesome stuff so check it out! As far as the contest goes, all you need to do is write up a little blurb in your journal and link to it, so I encourage everyone to check it out! Seriously, cool stuff; do it!

I'm open for business! ...so to speak. Ok, so I only have 7 items tor sale at the moment but it's a start. I've been quite productive over the last couple of weeks, working on the bags I've been posting on here recently; and now, I have an Etsy shop!

Here is your mission, should you choose to accept it. It comes in 4 phases:

Phase 1:
Visit the shop! It's here: www.etsy.com/shop/Objectionabl…
Look around and see what you think. I'm new to etsy so any sage tidbits of wisdom would be helpful.

Phase 2:
Give me some opinions on what's there!
Are my prices reasonable?
Are the goods quality enough that you'd want to buy them?
Would you tell your friends?
Would you wear them around at a convention? Or anywhere else?
Am I totally off base?

Phase 3:
Help me come up with new designs!
I already have a few that I haven't posted yet, which will hopefully be up soon. Both are Soul Eater related. Regardless, I want to build my repetiore so that people will hopefully start asking for custom stuff, because I know I wouldn't try to commission something from someone without being able to see a good bit of their existing work, so why would anyone else?

Phase 4:
Tell your friends!
Seriously, the more people who give me input the better. This is a serious endeavor, particularly because this is the stuff I plan on selling at a convention (if I ever manage to get an artist table). So please, tell all of your friends and help me move this forward!

Also, there's a facebook page, feel free to "Like" or disregard, whatevs. www.facebook.com/#!/Objectiona…
Thanks, my lovelies, for all future time and effort you put into this. Hopefully things will get moving and I can start making some money! Huzzah!

So I never really do run-downs of cons after I go, and I'm not planning on doing one for colossal either because I don't see much point. If you were there, you know what happened. If you weren't... well it was awesome but I don't feel the need to go into details for you.

No, this is more just a post because I'm thinking about it, and I have another hour and a half before I can go clean up from breakfast. This is about why I go to cons and a little bit of some stuff I'd like to do in the future.

So, the number 1 reason... well, besides to have fun and be nerdy anyway XD
To see cool people! This may seem obvious, but there are some friends of mine that I only see at conventions, a lot of whom I met by going to conventions in the first place. Awesome folks like trickssi, thecuttingroomfloor, BleaOneNaruCat17, Lady-aeris-fair, Nyxiie, DeviousTofu ... and really everyone else here on dA that I've actually met in person. I know I'm not the biggest social butterfly in the world, and I'm not always much of a talker, but I really enjoy spending time with these people (or should I say *you* people, because you're probably the only ones reading this XD)

Reason number 2: Cosplay.
That should come as no surprise, given that I never attend a con without at least 3 costumes in tow... I've even been crazy enough to bring 5 to one convention, and yes, I was only there for 3 days. That was a terrible idea and I lost my pokewalker as a result *grumble* but it was still a lot of fun. As with most cosplayers, I love it when people recognize me and/or want to take my picture. It gives us an immediate connection because we both have a common interest. And some people take pictures just because they think it looks cool, even if they have no idea who you are (this happened a lot with Volug at Ohayocon), which is a nice ego boost, considering how m,any AMAZING cosplayers there are out there.

Reason number 3: Fandoms.
You've probably heard me say it before, and I'm sure I'll say it again, but the best parts of Colossalcon were hanging out with all of the TWEWY cosplayers and having an EPIC Fire Emblem photoshoot. I love people who love the same things I do. Well, at least most of the time. I think I've decided that from this point forward, I'm only going to cosplay from less popular/well-known fandoms... oh wait, I already do that. I've just noticed that it's a lot more fun with a smaller group of people, it's like that for TWEWY, Fire Emblem, Ace Attorney. I think I just like shows/games/etc. that lend themselves well to it. The only mainstream cosplays I've done have been from Dr. Who (which I think is an exception to the rule because Whovians tend to be out there to begin with), and Tales of... which I wil probably never do again because that fandom is full of derp. I guess you can count FF7, with my Red XIII costume, but I've never gone to a FF photoshoot, and I don't ever plan to. Sorry to say it but I've seen a lot of sad FF cosplays in my con-going experience. It's funny, because I like a lot of mainstream things too, like FMA, Soul Eater, Zelda, etc. But the only way I'd cosplay as anything from those is if it's an obscure character that only the more serious fans would recognize.

So that brings us to some plans for the future. This is pretty much all cosplay stuff, which is ironic because I'm planning on doing an artist alley table at some point which means I'll have less time to work on cosplay. Regardless, here are a few thing I want to do:

777 (The World Ends With You) media.photobucket.com/image/77… - I love cosplaying as Kariya from this game because he's recognizable if you've played the game, but he's not exactly a central character so I'm always the only one at the conventions I've been to. Well, with 777, I'd have the same deal. He's a reaper, so most people who've played the games will recognize the wings, even if they don't recognize him. I've also only ever seen ONE 777 cosplay in all of teh internetz! I think other TWEWY cosplayers would be pretty psyched to see him too ^_^ He has a pretty sweet design, and I can still use Kariya's wings because they're the same shape as his. Also, I really just want a reaper hoodie to wear around (Kariya's has no arms so that's a little wierd...)

Kaworu (Neon Genesis Evangelion) wwv.sinsdementia.com/wp-conten… - This would be a real challenge because I'd love to do his Eva suit, but I have no idea how. This is more one of those longer-term projects that would require a lot of time and energy, but has the potential to be awesome! Also, it's impressive without being unwieldy, like Thanatos >_<

Hayashida Heihachi (Samurai 7) samurai7anime.files.wordpress.… - I found a Katsushiro at Tekko last year and it made my life. This is kinda off the deep end as far as obscurity, but I'd have no trouble with anyone else having the same costume as me ^_^ I think this will happen if Jordan ever decides to come to a con with me. Maybe Ohayo 2013?

Auditor Armbrust (Kiddy Grade) www.kiddygrade.net/profiles/ar… - Kiddy Grade has been one of my favorite series for a while, and if I wasn't crossplaying from it, I would want to do either Cesario or Armbrust... but I think Armbrust is my pick of the two. It would be a relatively simple and comfortable cosplay, and I could probably find most of what I need at a thrift store, the only issue is that his suit is essentially double-breasted, and has no buttons and the pants need to match the suit in color or they'll look stupid >_< Now I have made a suit before, specifically Edgeworth's, but it's hard to get a good fit and it's very hard to make it look professional. Also suiting fabric is expensive and I've been trying to budget my money better. Alas, someday I'll be able to afford to get a tailor to just make this for me and then I won't have to worry about all this XD

Someone from Magic, the Gathering - Really specific, I know. I'd love to have an MTG cosplay in my repetoire, mostly because I've been playing the game so much recently (ok, well not *too* recently because of work). The issue here is that I want something no one (or at least not many) have done before, but I also want something that people will potentially recognize. The first stipulation rules out Jace, Chandra, and Liliana… and the second rules out most other things. The planeswalkers would be my best bet for recognizable, but I don't have many options. I can't pull off Garruk, as I'm a twig; Sorin, Tibalt, Sarkhan, and Gideon don't really excite me that much; Ajani would be awesome but I don't know how to turn my head into a lion; I'm not the right color for Koth; Nicol Bolas is a dragon; Karn would take too much work to make it look good; Tezzeret's arm would be problematic; and I don't think I could do any of the ladies justice. That really just leaves Venser, who I love as a planeswalker, but he's not the most recognizable character and his outfit isn't the most exciting thing in the world either. Well, some day I'll figure this out, but that day is not today.

WHAT I'M USING MY JOURNAL?!?! Unheard of.
Really the only reason I'm even writing this is because I have to sit around the office until the Dominion gas guy comes and I have literally no real work to do because there was a whopping ONE person staying here last night so I already have everything ready for the group coming tonight. I wish I could go home and continue working on my messenger bags. That's right! I've been a good crafter and in anticipation of SOME DAY sharing an artist table at a convention with thecuttingroomfloor I've been making stuff... or at least getting some raw materials together. My last trip to the thrift store was quite productive! I came back with about 6 or so bags that I'm planning on using (remember the Catbus Bag? fav.me/d4u538e). I've also made a few other random things lately, but I don't want to put pictures up until after I've given them to the people they're for... which I'm usually too impatient to actually do. CONSTANT VIGILANCE! Anywho, you can expect some new pictures some time after Colossalcon is over, including some real pictures of Volug, who has sadly seen very little of the light of day. Speaking of which, I need to make sure his hair & ears are actually somewhere in my stuff, I guess I'll be looking through the void that is my bin of wigs and steampunkery... because it makes sense to keep all of those things together.

In life news, I moved into my new house this past weekend. Yay I have a whole house to myself again! Of course my boyfriend wants to move in, and so does another friend so that may not last long, but at least for the moment I have an actual sewing room (which I'm not giving up even if people move in, suck it up!) It's great because I don't have to take up the whole living room and make it impossible to walk whenever I want to work on a project (also, thanks mom for giving me the old desk from my room at home, it's perfect as a sewing table!) On the other hand, the downsides of the new house are as follows: (a) when you sit on the toilet, your knees hit the shower, no matter how short you are; (b) the kitchen sink is shallow and stupid; (c) the bed is still too short for me and makes you feel like you're going to fall out of it whenever you sleep in it. Oh well, I still really like the house so I can deal.

Random thought: Jordan looked at my picture of Roxas and Sora about to kiss and called it 'masturbatory' which just made me laugh. Mostly because it's totally true. I wish that artist had a deviantart account cause I feel like I own more of her artwork than anyone else's in the world...

So, for lack of anything better to do, I wanted to do a little review of M13 as its been spoiled so far. So if you don't play Magic, you can probably stop paying attention to this now.
It seems like Avacyn Restored hasn't been around that long but M13 is being released in about a month! I like drafting AVR too, so I'm a little conflicted about this. On the other hand, I kinda have ADD when it comes to magic cards so I'm sure when it's released I'm going to be like "OOH NEW SHINY CARDS YAAAAAAAAY" *DERP!FACE* So anyway I guess this is just going to be a bunch of random thoughts... so yeah
-I'm pumped that Nicol Bolas is in this set, but I kinda wish it was a new incarnation of him, since I already own 3 Nicol Bolas, Planeswalkers. Oh well, drafting him would be hi-LARIOUS!
-No white or black planeswalkers have been spoiled yet (unless Nicol Bolas is going to be the black planeswalker in this set) but I saw a video that showed Ajani and Liliana. I REALLY hope we get new versions of these two because I love Ajani and I think a new version of him would be baller. Also, if they reprint Liliana, I hope it's 'Vess' because I like that one more than 'of the Veil'
-I like that the lords in this set are the more powerful ones (at least thus far), even though they're more expensive. Captain of the Watch and Vampire Nocturnus both rock my socks!
-I like that Exalted is back, and I find it very interesting that there's black exalted now
-The basic land art that aren't reprints are pretty. But there aren't any new mountains which makes me kinda sad because there's not a whole lot of mountain artwork I get excited about so we need some new ones.
-I'm glad they reprinted the M12 versions of the 3 planeswalkers they've spoiled. I like them all better than their originals and I'd be a lot happier with copies of them over their older incarnations.
-[Epic Ramp Spell]? XD
-Love the new blue Legend. Yay drake tokens!!!
-Jace's Phantasm seems AWESOME. I love 1-drops. This almost excites me more than Wingcrafter.
-Reprinting Serra Avatar? I've always wanted one of those...
-No Titans yet, I'm wondering if they're getting reprinted? I kinda hope not so we can get some new mythics, but I wouldn't be too upset if they reprinted them since I'd love to get my hands on a few more.

That's about it, if you want to see the spoiler, here's the one I've been watching: mtgsalvation.com/magic-2013-m1…

Everyone else is doing this so I figured I'd jump on too!

First, I'm super-pumped that I actually got the weekend off! Yay new boss not being a douche!
Second, I'm pretty excited because I'm not bringing any new cosplays! That might sound wierd, especially because we all know how much I love new cosplays, but I'm bringing a few of the ones that don't get as much exposure. I'm also bringing ones that are summer-appropriate cause I finally figured out that characters who don't wear shirts are NOT goor for Ohayocon in January... yeah, I'm real quick to catch on *facepalm* Anywho, only one character has sleeves and I'm only wearing him to the formal ball anyway because it would be indecent to wear something sleeveless to that (which reminds me, some day I should make Zelos' formal outfit for the ball :-D). The other nice thing about not having to make any new cosplays from scratch is I have lots of time for other things. I've already sewn presents for thecuttingroomfloor and BleaOneNaruCat17 ... the former so she will hopefully be willing to spend 3 hours helping me with Volug's tattoos, and the latter just because ^_^

So, here's the lineup!

Miles Edgeworth (Ace Attorney): I'd feel naked without him. And my darling Phoenix would stop giving me cookies if I didn't. He's happening for the formal ball, and probably nowhere else, unless Feenie and I finally get some bedroom shots XD
Volug (Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn): BECAUSE I'LL HAVE A FREAKING NAILAH WITH ME!!!! Lady-aeris-fair is coming as my master... and hopefully there will be a Micaiah there for me to follow around act like a dog XD. He'll be worn most of the day saturday because those tattoos aren't worth it if they're not being shown off for as long as possible. (also, I made him a new belt-hip-tasset-thingy! it's all foam with no paint this time so it won't crack in strange neon colors any more!)
Koki Kariya (The World Ends With You): He's only been worn once and I love Kariya so I decided he was coming with me. I need to remember to pick up some dum-dums. Also, I'm just going to have short hair because I'm morally opposed to buying a wig that's roughly the same color as my real hair. He's happening friday because there's a TWEWY panel and a shoot!
Red XIII (Final Fantasy VII): It's a safari-themed park, how could I not? He also made his debut at Colossal last year so it would be a shame not to bring him back. He'll probably only happen on Sunday or any time in between other costumes when I'm too lazy to put on a real one.

Ok, so as you may know I've been playing the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona games (well, 3 and 4 anyway) so I kinda felt like doing a little comparison with my thoughts about each one and the particualrs I liked better about one or the other. There may be a little spoiler here or there but most of it's general stuff or mechanics so don't worry too much if you haven't played one or the other and are plannig to.

Points for Persona 3

The social links:
I felt like almost all of the social links in 4 were variations on the same theme: running away from/ignoring some sort of issue the character was having. This made a lots of sense when we got to the end and Ameno-sagiri explained how the TV world came into being... essentially by humans creating fantasies and ignoring reality (at least that was my understanding, significantly simplified). I just enjoyed the much greater diversity in story progression that you got with the social links in P3. The one thing I liked better about the social links in 4 was that all of the party characters were S-Links. At the time it made little difference because I played 3 first, but it would have been nice if you could develop social links with some of the male part members from 3, not just the girls. Alas.
I also never even found the Tower social link so I'm still scratching my head over that one.

Knock downs:
Ok, so I loved the fact that I got to continue attacking when I used a Ma- (hits all enemies) elemental spell and one of the enemies fell over. I didn't so much appreciate when an enemy used such spells and knocked down a part member then proceeded to wipe out the rest of my party. In general, P4 was much harder than P3, or at least much more aggrivating because you get Game Over so much mre often. Personally, I preferred the densive advantage you got from Ma- magic in P3 over the offensive advantage in P4, but that's just me.

Party members:
Ok, so those of you who know me probably know that I have an affinity for nonhuman characters. In that respect, P3 gets more points for Koro & Aigis than P4 does for Teddie... particularly considering Teddie essentially *is* a human by the end of the game.

Velvet assistant:
Plain and simple, I liked Elizabeth way more than Margaret. I do appreciate that you actually get to for a social link with Margaret... but I never really managed to do that since you have to fuse special personas with particular abilities, which is kinda hard to get right the first playthrough without using a guide. I just felt like Elizabeth had more personality, but that's probably just because I never interacted with Margaret.

The ending:
It's much easier to get an ending that doesn't suck in P3. I was sooooooooo mad at P4 the first time I got "terrible ending #1" and the game ended, it was the least satisfying ending EVAR. WTF ATLUS, WHY MUST YOU TOY WITH MY EMOTIONS?!?!?! Also, I never even managed to get the "true ending" but at least I got the "not so bad ending" after beating the crap out of that sleazebag and the crazy disco eyeball.

Time management:
In P3 you can build a social link/raise a stat AND go to Tartarus in the same day. It frustrated me to no end that you could only visit the TV world during the day and if you did you couldn't do anything in your room to improve your stats afterwards. I was always excited when I could bond with Dojima or Nanako after going into the TV cause I couldn't do anything else.

Healing:
I think I used the Fox's healing once during the whole time I played P4 because it was so freaking expensive until you got his S-Link high enough. I liked auto-healing when you went back to the entrance of Tartarus. This was also nice because you could save before taking on a boss or mini-boss so you didn't have to rush in, get your ass handed to you and start over again. You could use Traeso or a Goho-M to save before mini-bosses in P4, but you had to use items or give the fox all your money if you wanted to go in fully loaded. The one downside in P3 is the limited amount of time you can spend in Tartarus before getting tired. Being tired/sick was a pain in the ass but was easy to remedy. I like that solution better that what you get in P4.

Treasure chests:
There are no locked chests in P3. That's all that needs said.

Shuffle time:
I liked that you could get other bonuses from shuffle time in P3 besides just new Personas. They kind of revamped that with Arcana Chance in P4, but it was much more dependent on chance and much more risky because the penalties could be pretty steep and usually had lasting effects. The range of effects was also wider so more things could happen as a reslut, which is noteworthy, however I think the risks outweighed the rewards most of the time, so I rarely did Arcana Chance after the first several times trying it.

The Reaper:
If you couldn't tell from the last point, I'm not a huge fan of leaving things to chance. Fighting the reaper depends on patience in P3 and on chance in P4; I prefer patience.

Finshing (or lack thereof):
Still all left to chance - no matter how high your dilligence and how often you go fishing, the type of fish you get is random based on the weather in P4, which drove me nuts. There is no fishing in P3, thank the lord.

Points for Persona 4

Stages:
There were actually interesting differences between the stages in the TV world, which makes sense because each stage had a different basis in the first place. Tartarus was like running through a giant maze that changed color every 20 floors. I also liked that you could go back to previous stages in P4 and actually get something out of it by knocking off the mondo shadow at the top. There's nothing quite like that in P3, you can just go back to earlier levels to get things for Elizabeth's quests if you missed them.

Changing pathways:
Tartarus always looks exactly the same... as I kinda said in the last one. I like that the TV world is different every time you explore it. You have to find your way through again, not just rely on the path you took the first time. You also had a constant supply of new treasure chests, unlike in P3, of course much to my dismay half of them are golden and require a key to unlock but whatevs.

Points for Both

Opening Video:
The opening videos and the opening music is freaking awesome for both games. 'nuf said.

Points for No One

Tartarus/TV Music:
SO REPETETIVE. ALWAYS. FOREVER. I get that it's background music but you could at least make it a little more interesting when we have to listen to it for an hour or so at a time. Thank you Fuuka for letting me change the bg music in P3, sadly I wasn't amazed by any of them. Also thank you composers for having different music in each stage of P4, but I still got tired of them by floor 3 and muted my computer so I could listen to other music.
I loved the rest of the in-game music, too which is why this bugs me so much.

SO! It\'s probably pretty evident that I rank 3 higher on my list than 4 but please don't take that to mean I hated playing P4. I loved both games a lot and would recommend them to anyone and everyone!

So, sorry to have not uploaded anything in a while, but I promise I'm getting there! This past weekend I took another forest excursion in one of my costumes and have some fun pictures to show for it. This time, I wandered around the woods in a costume that hasn't gotten nearly enough camera time: Sothe. For those of you Fire Emblemers out there, you'll appreciate them... for those of you who have no idea who that is, well hopefully you'll still enjoy them.

I also have a few other card alters to upload... unfortunately they're not my favorites. I think I'm going to alter them a little further so pictures might not go up too soon cause although the borders turned out just fine, the interesting bits of the card look like poop at the moment.

In other news, I'm already planning for Ohayocon, as some of you know, and I have a preliminary costume agenda, though god only knows what days I'm going to be wearing these.

The Master/Harold Saxon - Doctor Who
I'm assuming Beanamir82 will be coming with her 10th Doctor outfit so I thought this would be appropriate. I already have the suit, I just need the ring and the laser screwdriver.

Miles Edgeworth - Ace Attorney
It wouldn't be ohayocon without an AA photoshoot. If I get around to it, I may even turn him into Bratworth.

Thanatos - Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3
This is my big project for this year, and hopefully I'll do a good enough job to warrant entering it in the cosplay competition. If I do, I may even go to the masquerade this year! It's going to take a long time to make, but if I manage to do it well, it's going to look AWESOME! This is the first time I've been legitimately worried about violating the 2' extension rule XD
I'm definitely going to need a handler given his lack of face and floating train of coffins.

SO EXCITED FOR THIS

Holy moly I can't believe it's my last week of the Res program this year and that Colossalcon is only a week away!

So, I thought it was about time for a costume update, with all of my ridiculous plans and such.

Kariya, Edgeworth & Roxas - Still coming with me and still finished. I'm not adding anything to any of these cause... well they really don't need it. I do hope my Roxas wig arrives this week though, I wonder if I was just hallucinating and didn't actually order it (that's not all that improbable)

Guy - He's almost done! THANK GOD OMG I HATE TRIANGLES ~ahem~ All that's left with this one is figuring out shoes and making his headband, which shouldn't take too much effort. I also need some wrap-y bits for my arms & ankles, but I think I may steal the ones I use for Tibarn & Volug, respectively. We'll see about that.

Nanaki/Red XIII - I only have two things to finish for him: his tail & his bangles... which I'm probably truning into armbands to fit the style I'm going for. Frankly, I don't know how well people will recognize me but I'm really looking forward to wearing this costume cause it looks bretty badass. Orange is not really my color but that's beside the point.

Oh yeah, I really need to take my flash drive to work next week so I can make those buttons for Kent... Fail!memory.

Well, I'm posting this on here because you'll appreciate it more than anyone on facebook... and it'd be kinda awkward on there.

So there's a potential boy in my future, and his name is Isaac... meaning one of his nicknames is Ike.

My life is complete XD

Anyway, here's some other news you guys might care about:

I've started watching Dr. Who and I'm already into season 3 (I just finished The Shakespeare Code). I LOVE IT, naturally ^_^

I also started playing Final Fantasy IV last night. I'm not very far into the game cause I was texting said boy the whole time (I actually started playing it cause we were talking about final fantasy and he said I should which is good cause I've wanted to play this one for a while I just haven't gotten around to it so it gave me a good excuse) so I kept on going back & forth between phone and PS2. This also means I may never actually make it through AAI XD

Lastly, my Guy costume is in the works! I'm already done with his sword & sheath (which took way longer than it should have x.x) and I started on his robe. I've put together all the structural bits and now I just need to add all the detailing which is going to take FOREVER ;_; I also made the neck hole way too big so it sits kinda awkwardly around the neck but hell if I'm going to try fixing it now.

I guess that's about all... love & kisses!

So with Tekko a week behind me, I'm already planning for my next con: Colossalcon at the beginning of June. At this stage of the game, I'm pretty sure I've decided to only make a single new costume for any given convention cause that seems to be the best use of my time cause I can fix up anything else that needs fixing or finishing on my older projects.

As for tekko, I only took 3 costumes (plus Godot since I was expecting a certain someone to wear it but she came as Klavier instead, much to my *deathbyjoy*)... none of which were from Fire Emblem, which is a first for me.

~Edgeworth: He's quickly becoming my favorite AA cosplay, even though I adore Godot. I just feel like I'm a little better suited for him... and I have peripheral vision when I'm cosplaying as him (unless there's a strong wind), unlike Godot who I wander into people, signs, and staircases when I'm wearing. And the potential for fanservice is always a plus ^_^

~Koki 'Lollipop' Kariya: Another one that's realatively new but I really like... mostly because it doesn't *really* require a wig. BEing a redhead I can get away with it pretty easily even if my hair isn't the right shape. Plus I'm too cheap & to lazy to do anything about it XD The two downsides to the costume (a)the wings tend to poke people & knock things over when in tight spaces.... like the hotel hallways & the dealer's room and (b)I tend to forget about the pointy wallet chain and stab myself in the ass when I sit down. The awesome thing is that a fair number of people recognize & like the character. I didn't realize TWEWY was that popular but apparently it's a more well-known game than I realized.

~Roxas: He was my new one for this con... and once again I didn't bother getting a wig, mostly cause I was too lazy & waited too long to order one. I think this might be solved by colossal but who knows. I also only had one of my two keyblades finished at that point but they're both done now so maybe I'll actually be motivated...maybe. All-together I'm preally happy with the way he turned out, there are a few details I plan on adding at some point or another, but at least for right now I love him ^_^

So, on to Colossalcon! I've been stalking the forums and discovered that there's a strong FE following at this con andf there's no way I'm passing up the opportunity to dress up with them; so I've paired up with BleaOneNaruCat17 for my new costume, I'm pretty excited. There will be FE fanservice, like, woah XD

~Guy: Yep, he's the new one and I should have a Matthew there to fondle XD
I'm pretty excited about this one cause I've only ever done costumes from FE 9 & 10 so it'll be nice to have something a bit different. That and his costume should be reatively simple compared to some of the other FE costumes I've done (like Haar x_x). I think I'm going to start working on his sword this week ^_^

~Kariya: There seem to be several other TWEWY cosplayers coming so I'm pretty excited to get some actually good photos of this costume cause thus far most of mine aren't too impressive -_-

~Roxas: Having finished my second keyblade, I can't really justify *not* bringing this with me. Besides, I really like wearing this one cause it's so comfy... and has short sleeves ^_^

~Edgeworth or Godot: I've made an AA appearance at every con since I started cosplaying from this series so I just wouldn't feel right not bringing at least one. And besides, my Phoenix is going to be there and I would want to disappoint ^_^

So, my lovelies, I need some help from you guys. I'm planing on getting my first artist table at a small con called Con on the Cob, which is in Hudson. The good thing is, a booth costs the same as 2 badges, and you get the two badges so it's essentially free to get the booth. And I have someone who's willing to man the table in exchange for a free badge.

So, I have a bunch of random shit I'm planning on selling, but my crochet chibis are one item. My question is: how much should I charge for them? Or I suppose a better question would be: how much would you pay for one? (assuming it's a character you'd actually want). The materials cost is relatively negligible, so it's all pretty much paying for labor costs. I'm just not a good judge of monetary value. Any input would be appreciated.

Secondly, I'm trying to figure out what the hell to cosplay @ this con. It's going to be small so I don't want to go as anything/anyone too obscure cause then no one'll recognize me. At the same time, it's me so I want to do something above & beyond the usual. Here are my thoughts:

-Twilight Princess!Link ... with a ball & chain, and possibly a dominion rod cause those are the most awesome weapons in that game

-Young!Edgeworth ... cause I love Edgy & that piratey-looking coat is awesome

-White/Blue Coat!Howl ... cause it's Howl and you don't see too many people in that outfit, not to mention I'd get to make another Calcifer

...that's it. Again, input or suggestions would be awesome. <3 <3 <3

  • Watching: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
So I've decided that when going to a con with :iconbeanamir82: it's so much more fun to go as a pair, or at least as people from the same game, so when people take pictures of both of us, it actually makes sense. Not to mention, when we do photoshoots we can do all sorts of interesting things ^_^ We've decided that we should do Naesala/Leanne or Reyson/Leanne, Nailah/Rafiel, Mrs. Lovette/Sweeny Todd, and Plavalaguna/Ruby Rod XD. If we ever go to Gencon, we'll probably do the Mrs. Lovette/Sweeny Todd one ^_^

We really need to do an actual individual photoshoots next chance we get cause I really want a shot of Godot crying blood... not no mention a good one of Mia objecting.

On another note, one of the panels we went to got me thinking about my dream cosplays... like, if I ever become independently rich... hahaha, like that's ever going to happen, or if I find a wealthy man who let's me spend all of my time (and his money) on hobbies my hobby of cosplaying, there are definitely a few I'd love to make... well, besides an entire line of Fire Emblem costumes from essentially every character in PoR/RD... and maybe some from Rekka no Ken. Anyway, Ruby Rod and the Diva Plavalaguna are definitely up there on the list, not only because they're fabulous and ridiculously intricate, but because The Fifth Element is probably my favorite bad movie ever. So as with last time, I've moved on to a new semi-addiction (mostly semi-addicted for the simple fact that I don't have much free time nowadays with my new job). I got my mom to teach me how to crochet, and I started making creatures similar to the ones in www.amazon.com/Creepy-Cute-Cro… <<<this book. Sadly, despite Beanamir82 sending me the crochet book I got when I went to visit her, I still haven't quite figured out how slip stitches are any different from normal ones... or how the hell double or triple crochet works. Oh well, I'm managing to make things up pretty well, and fortunately I haven't had to use much of that for the patterns I'm working on. I was going to start with one of the actual patterns in the book, but you know me, I rarely go exactly by the book, and I'm obsessed with video games and other such things... so I started trying to make zelda characters right off the bat. Not exactly the best idea when you have no idea what you're doing, but it seemed to work out alight after a few tries. I've now made a Midna who's hanging from the rear-view window in my car, and a link... who's looking really happy and has really awkward hair because I couldn't make the hat quite big enough. I'm working on a Sheik at the moment but I can't finish him until this weekend at the earliest because I don't have my felt with me (but I'm going home saturday to get it). Eventually I want to make as much of the zelda crew as possible (zelda, the 6 sages from OoT, Ganondorf, Zant, etc.) and I'm looking forward to making Ganondorf's cornrows of doom from TP. It'll also be interesting to try figuring out what to do with Zant's helmet, cause I'd rather not have to make it out of clay like I did with Midna's.

I'll put up pictures when I get a chance.

P.S. their chibi eyes are probably my favorite thing ^_^
  • Listening to: Jim making annoying sounds
So I've decided that I have a very addictive personality, a lot like my good friend Beanamir82 , though mine tend to revolve around crafty things rather than particular movies or video games (though that definitely happens too). At Otakon this past weekend we went to a clay chibi-crafting workshop, which frankly I already knew how to make them, but he did have some good methods that I stole, and now I have intentions of making the entire Fire Emblem PoR cast to use for a chess set... I have 7 finished already, and I only need 16 to make a full chess set!

I swear, I don't have an addiction...

Also, I'm already working out the details of my next costume... well, next 2 costumes. I'll probably be working on them at the same time because neither of them will be as involved as Haar was. I'm planning a Ranulf and a Volug costume, which will be horrible timing for the cons I plan to wear them to considering one will be in December and the other in January and neither of those characters wear much clothing (particularly Volug). Anyway, I want to make Ranulf for some con that's happening in Pittsburgh and I'm hoping to go with Beanamir82 who's doing Soren (we'll actually be from the same fandom this time so it will make sense when people take pictures of the two of us together). I have bright green contacts that I got from Otakon so I have the multicolored eyes covered, and I just ordered my wig today because cosworx is having a sale (so now I'm going to have the same wig in 3 colors... I swear all of the characters I dress up as have the same style of hair-ish). And everything will be fabric! Yay for no armor or ridiculous props (although I usually have a lot of fun with weapons and the like). I'm planning on doing Volug for Ohayocon in January? At least I think it's in January... I'd go as Ranulf but one of my friends who i went with last year might go as Ranulf so I didn't want there to be two of us cosplaying the same character (although that's only if I end up going and I end up hanging out with them again, which I really hope happens because I want to see RandomFacelift again. I picked Volug because I pretty well have his build and he has the same hair as Tibarn so I can re-use one of my wigs. I'm also ordering a pair of purple contacts (if I can find them) because I can use them for both Ranulf and Volug.
  • Listening to: Dance Playlist
so I alreadt have an online journal, but that's usually about my life and not my projects, so I figure this would be a good place to put that.

There are a few more badges that I've finished since the last time I posted here, I've made a Midna, which is probably one of my favorites so far, and a Tibarn (surprise, surprise), which once I was finished I realized I left something out that would be a pain in the ass to add now... but whatever, he still looks pretty good anyway.

In the costuming world, which I haven't done much in a while, I'm going to start preparing for Otacon... whenever I recover from my lack of sleep for the past month (I've been on holiday in the UK since graduation last month). I'm still working out what costume I'm going to use. I would like to do a simple Red XII which wouldn't take too long to put together, so I'll probably do that along with another outfit and do them on different days of the con. Right now it's between Volug and Haar, both FE characters since that's my favorite series to cosplay from. Both have issues I'll have to work around:
Volug - wears no shirt (thankfully the con is during summer) and has tattoos up his arms, which would take a long time to use face/body paint (may not be worth it for them to only be on there for a day), and will conflict with my own tattoo if i use actual henna... since I don't care if the marks stay there for an extended period of time. I think if I do this I'll either use nylon sleeves (which I'd rather not do because I want it to look like they're actual tattoos as much as possible and still don't know how I'd apply the color, or I could henna the whole area minus where my actual tattoo is and just face paint/makeup over it. Has anyone ever tried using henna on nylon? do you think it would work? I feel like it might given how it stains skin. Input would be greatly appreciated.
Haar - I've never done armor before, though I'm not opposed to trying. I even got craft foam to rty it, but because his armor has all of the scalloped edges, I'm not sure how well it'll work. I may try a combination of the foam and cardboard with paper mache... again, ideas would be helpful. And no, I'd rather not use fiberglass.

Anyway, I'll figure it out later, I have plenty of time before the con and since my usual summer job of housepainting doesn't look promising this year, I should have plenty of time on my hands.
