Current Favorite: OJ Haywood from Nope. He's the closest thing I've ever had to a "Literally Me" character and I'll just say that he and his movie came at the right time in my life after I experienced heavy events very similar to his... minus the mysterious UFO creepin' around, of course.
Comfort Character: I loved this dolly since I discovered her in 2011 through Nostalgia Critic's mindfucks video and the idea of a 10 feet tall Ann hugging me like a sea otter mom is still comforting.
It's too bad 2021 was a shitty year for me, I would've been less busy being miserable and savored the sudden viral attention she and A Musical Adventure got back then.
By Design: If people can consider superheroes the new Greek Mythology, I think it's acceptable to consider the Xenomorph a modern-day mythical, influential beast like dragons or the fair folk are, H.R. Giger seriously struck gold, TO THIS VERY DAY people keep ripping off the design of this creature. 'Nuff said.
By Plot: As Doug Walker said, Brisby walking into the Great Owl's nest in spite of her terror because she just wants to know what to do in order to keep her kid safe is one of the bravest and inspiring things ever visualized. Fighting with a power armor or a katana is badass and all, but sometimes the simplest act of doing something despite being scared shitless is indeed very inspiring. Not bad for a mouse.
Guilty Favorite: I mean... c'mon. He's a sleaze, he scares off potential costumers with his abysmal manners, he's gross, he's invasive, he's destructive, he wanted to marry a teenager, but what the hell, I still love this asshole. I'm not a ghost (yet) but he definitely makes my millennium.
All Time Favorite: I wish I could put Ed, Edd n Eddy here, but if I must choose only one, Inspector Zenigata is a pretty safe choice. To me, he's never the weakest link in any Lupin III series or special he's in, he's ALWAYS good. Either a hysterical obsessive wreck or an absolute badass, and no matter how many times Lupin escapes him, he will never. Fucking. Give. Up. That's inspiring. If only the real police was as loyal to justice and unbreakable as Zenigata is, the world would be a better (and funnier) place.
