It has been two years since the last Manga Theory. At least the wait was as intense as the wait for Kingdom Hearts III for 12 years! *Ba-dum! Tch!*
So let's dive in and find out who the next person is.
Hello everyone. 4Soldiers here. Being absent for too long just to take two years to go to IHOP and back. Heh heh. Disney ill needs writers of cringe such as 4Soldiers. Which reminds me... Who is Valdou? (*Throws down wine glass*) A MISERABLE PILE OF SECRETS!
But seriously. He has secrets. So now let's uncover them.
In volume 1 of Kilala Princess, Valdou is introduced as Rei's bodyguard looking very androgynous and a Disney rip off of Sebastian Michaelis from Black Butler. BOOM! GOT 'EM! But let's step aside and analyze Valdou carefully. Throughout Kilala Princess, Valdou's involvement with the Humanoids is left in the dark; leaving readers to question who he really is. His loyalty starts becoming questionable when he purposely leave the Magical Crown (Still calling it that! Dammit!) unattended and then later stolen by a possessed Erika.
Now why on earth would someone with an important position like Valdou leave a magical device behind without bringing it up and mentioning that he lost it? Simple. His loyalty was never with Rei to begin with. It's not until Volume 2 that Rei realizes who Valdou is as well as agenda with the Humanoids. Valdou never speaks about himself being a Humanoid anywhere in the series until his secret is revealed in the end.
This raises many questions about Rei's memories before he lost them. Rei looked surprised in stabbing Valdou in the final confrontation. It's clear to the reader that Rei either didn't know that Valdou was a Humanoid from the start... or... he forgot that Valdou was a Humanoid because his memories got nearly erased.
From here, it could be not stated, but implied that Paradiso was once a harmonic land that shared peace between humans and Humanoids. Meaning, the land was advanced in technology to fulfill this from the start.
Remember the first Manga Theory that talked about Kilala Princess taking place in the bad future timeline? Recall time:
"So let's get back to Kilala's story. How do we know that her story takes place in the future? Take a clear look at Avalon and Paradiso. Both areas of the world have advance technology. The bike Kilala rides isn't a regular bicycle. It's hover bike. The fact that a civil war occurred between the humans and the humanoids means that the people of Paradiso had robot servants living alongside of them before the war started. Also, the use of guns and ammunition. If Kilala would have existed around the same time as Sora, Riku, and Kairi, then the technology of her village should have been reduced to simple gadgets.
In Kingdom Hearts, on Destiny Island, its unknown to how far in technology Sora and his friends are in to see them building a raft out of logs. However, we have subtle hints on how far in the times they are in. In the first game, we see the kids playing with wooden poles, volleyballs, jump rope, and wooden swords. If they were far in combat wise of projectiles, wouldn't one of them have own a crossbow with a plunger on it or paintball guns for the matter? The means of travel on the island use boats and walking as witnessed in the second game. You don't see many cars around where they live nor do we see people on bikes. Their clothes appear to be modern like Kilala's uniform, showing that they must know somewhat of the city life somewhere in their world. So we know that they're clothes are modern, which means they should have access to modern technology easily, but we never see that technology at all. Meaning, their secluded isle might be modern fashion wise, but behind the times in terms of quick travel and combat.
Going back to Kilala, in the chapter where Kilala, Rei, and Slyphy travel into Aladdin's world, they are flying unusual looking aircraft vehicles. Not gummi ships and not airplanes! No! Air vehicles that appear to be big enough for only one or three people. In other words, this was meant to be a new invention to replace hover bikes for a large means of travel."
From what was analyzed, Valdou exists because the story takes place far into the future. His fantastic racism could be rooted from the mistreatment the other Humanoids may have suffered by the hands of their Human masters. In truth, Valdou caused the chain of events in the story to try and save his Humanoid brethren from whoever or whatever was mistreating them. Since we don't know what kind of person Rei was before the brainwashing, we could come to conclude in an alternate character interpretation that Valdou was trying to save the Humanoids from abuse of power... or he could have malfunctioned along his lifespan as a Humanoid and started thinking for himself, which probably wasn't suppose to happen to begin with.
If the latter is true, then it's apparent that Paradiso didn't watch any Sci-Fi movies warning of what would happen if machines were built with Artificial Intelligence. Hope someone watched The Terminator because it could have escalated that way... had it not been for Disney.
