Description
Day#23: Static
In memory of Dwayne McDuffie who passed away yesterday.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dwayne on more than one occasion thanks to my friend Derrick who owns Comic Oasis and brought me along to the San Diego Comic Con in 2007 where I happened to run into Dwayne in the massive DC Comics set-up and proceeded to have a fairly brief but quite encouraging conversation, luckily enough I (along with Derrick this time) was able to run into him the very next day at a booth on a busy part of the con floor where he was able to take another look thought my sketchbook. He looked took a good look through my sketchbook and we chatted uninterrupted for some time when suddenly a old friend of his steps up to say hello, to both my and Derrick's surprise it was Director John Singleton and to my greater surprise Dwayne leaned his massive arm on my sketchbook (which I believe he did to hold me in place) to shake John's hand and say hello.
His friendliness and encouraging words left a great impression on me from both meeting him at the Comic Con and a follow up meeting (once again thanks to Derrick) at the Vegas Valley "Comic" Book Festival, following his work in comic and animation writing as he created great characters and penned enthralling tales was really something to behold.
He will truly be missed.
