Katrina's Still Life

Its been two years since Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast on August 29, 2005 and flooded New Orleans. The waters stood for several weeks and personal belongings floated both inside and outside of homes.

When the water was pumped out of the city a layer of dirt, sand, and clay covered the entire flood area. In some places the dirt was several inches thick. The city was a dull grey color.

This is a collage of some of the photos I've taken over the past two years that shows some of what Hurricane Katrina left behind for us to deal with.
