I am really happy that you could tell by this drawing what she was
and no need to apologize. I know a lot of people have trouble with the spelling, I did too for the longest.
. :D we think she is gorgeous too. 1 of many reasons her name is Lovely. They really are great protectors. Though we know they are usually meant for livestock guarding, she is a house dog and guards us instead ^_^

Our two boys stay outside, they don't like to be in the house. They used to be for the goats I had and my father's cows but a cold snap made them sick and now they protect us........ It's funny we live on this huge hill and they protect every house and every family on it.

We live in the south and it's pretty hot so she feels more comfortable inside. She will go out to potty and if we are outside but otherwise it's too hot for her. She guards us that's her job and she does it well. I wish we had a lot of land for her. Maybe someday. :)

We live on 10 acres. But they also roam the 100+ acre hill too. We live in Kentucky and it can get 110 120 during the summer here. We had a huge snow over the winter. My dad lost the eldest dog in the snow. We found him curled up in a snow drift asleep.
I think if we didn't have so many coyote we would shave ours. But since their fur protects their vital organs, that would be a bad idea.

Yeah you can trim but shaving isn't recommended. fighting coyotes isn't the only thing, in the summer their fur does protect from them from the heat and sunburns as well as in the cold keeps them insolated.
