August Hall of Features
Gahhh ~ . It's the end of August, and while we're celebrating great pieces, we're also either entering school or have already been in it for a few weeks. Could this new development equate to a shorter amount of submissions...?
In any case, thanks for always sticking with us and allowing us to feature your artworks ^o^! We hope you enjoy these great stamps .

Art Feature #7 - LGBTQ
So, since it won the poll this week and since it is VERY important to me (since I'm bisexual) I'm doing this week's art feature on LGBTQ art. If anyone wonders, I left out asexual since I'll give that an art feature of its own as it is extremely under represented.
Homophobia isn't cool and these artists as well as the people in the photos took a big risk to put themselves out there. Make sure to show them LOTS of love. Even if the artwork isn't your favourite, I assure that they don't get enough support for being who they are which is something that most of us take for granted.
Think Pink / May FEATURE
Welcome to our special pink feature. May is the month of love. That's why we show you a few flowers in pink that are blooming in May.Let the love sproud!
The feature is aorund devianART again and with these following flowers: Paeonia, Clematis, Lamprocapnos spectabilis, Syringa hyacinthiflora (Lilac), Whit (Dianthus gratianopolitanus)
We have cross-searched for photographs and drawings, ho
Group Feature! dA Compliments!
Hey, I've never done a feature for a group before, but here we go!
The group is dAComplimentsÂ
Without a doubt, this is one of the best groups I've come across. Its a positive happy attempt to make the world a little bit better. I was sent an anonymous comment on here from someone, making my day a little bit better. Basically the goal of the group is to provide a platform which deviants can use to send compliments to one another.
Sounds simple right? Here's the catch. It can be anonymous, so if you don't want anyone to know who sent your compliment then they won't know. I think this is an extremely awesome way to get your message across. First, the person won't know who sent it and second they'll have said something nice to you. Its one of those little things that really can make your day a lot better.
I was informed by their captain Kezzi-Rose that they haven't been having as many compliments coming lately. It is my hope that by featuring this, I hope

Stamp Kingdom News [Feb/March]
Hello, figured it would be nice if you heard from me, so you know I'm not dead and haven't given up on the group, I'm just very slow getting back into the routine of being on here, making art and wading through my inbox
I'd like to share a neat little tutorial on stamp making from a stamp maker of some time now, Kezzi-Rose
It's a simple guide through the various stages of stamp construction, and shows a nice combination of text and original graphics (as I always encourage stamp makers to try and create original content and resist the temptation to paste pre-existing images into stamp templates with no other adornment). For those reading who would like to try making a stamp but find the idea of hand pixelling the stamp teeth daunting, there are a number of good templates to start with on the main group page in the resources module so you have something to start with.
Here is a selection of stamps from Kezzi-Rose to get you inspired:

Holding On Together by Kezzi-Rose
Your beauty cast a heat
deep into my weary bones,
and it turned the marrow
I’d never known a hurt so fondly.
The wind of your laugh
could carry me far away.
Perhaps the bees would gather
my dust in their wings
and show me worlds I’ve never seen.
But there are worlds in your hands as well.
And if you held me close,
held my hands in yours,
perhaps I could find what I’ve been looking for.
Maybe if you held my ashes,
let my dust run through your fingers,
I could understand the language of your skin.
My blood is thick with the skeletons of roses;
their petals are scattered in my brain.
If you don’t speak too loudly,
maybe they won’t float away.
Let the feathers brush your face
and let the moonlight fill the space
you and I.
I would love to know the worlds
you hold within

FINAL - March Poll Period * CLOSED
Hello dear members, watchers and visitors
This is the new way to find our winner of our POLL SYSTEM: instead using a Poll with the ten most voted of the period, we'll be using a blog to showcase the 20 MOST VOTED of this period!
This means, or so I hope, more exposure for your pieces and galleries.
The idea is simple: each work has a number and all deviants have the opportunity to vote like if it was a poll...with the difference that you will choose not one but 3 favourites!
All deviants may vote, INCLUSIVE who is participating; the participants may vote for themselves and ask friends and watchers to vote; this blog may have publicity by all means and be submitted in groups.
The work with most votes wins a 3 months sub, our usual prize.
Follow the RULES to VOTE...AND EVERYONE VOTING and ING THIS BLOG will enter a draw to win 100 . The participants may and should click the Favourite Button too - you have
Been there, done that
One of many in the vast database of groanworthy defenses of religion I occasionally grumble about is the statement, "oh, but faith and science could learn something from each other." I'ts one of those arguments that's presented as being fair-minded when in fact it's insultingly dismissive. Why do I think that? Well, for starters: WE ALREADY HAVE!
Science didn't develop in a vacuum, free of religious influence. For most of its lifespan, science developed in an environment where religion was the dominating, if not the only acceptable philosophy and most of the early pioneers where rather devout theists. With that in mind, I think it's safe to say that any religious or spiritual ideas worth keeping would still be around. The fact that most spiritual ideas isn't considered says more about the ideas than it does about science.
Same thing if we're talking on a broader scale of secularists versus spiritualist. Most of us either grew up in a religious household, or in a society where religion
Spreading the dA Love: Volume 16
As the title suggests, this news article series aim to promote wonderful aspects of the deviantART community, from showcasing beautiful works of art, to informing you of great groups, and to interviewing inspirational deviants.
