Universe Stamp by Kezzi-Rose Universe Stamp by Kezzi-Rose

Be humble for you are made of earth; be noble for you are made of stars.

— Serbian proverb

Have you ever looked up at a clear night sky and felt the incredible significance of the sight before you? Stretching on to infinity is vast space, filled with other planets, asteroids, burning suns, spinning galaxies, supernovas, neutron stars, black holes.. and so much more that we may never see, even with the most powerful of telescopes. It is enormous, it is dynamic, and it is beautiful.
And there you are, this tiny speck on the surface of just one little planet, in just one solar system on the arm of just one galaxy, gazing up at it all, trying to comprehend it. You feel on the brink of epiphany, yet somehow the reality of it all is just too big to quite fit inside your head.
Every atom in your body has come from out there, somewhere. Everything you are made from once came exploding out of a supernova, maybe several supernovae, millions and billions of light-years from where you're standing right now. You are stardust: and billions of years of tinkering evolution by natural selection has shaped that into who you are. Despite the total feeling of insignificance that comprehending the universe gives you, it also makes you one of the most special and important things ever to exist.
Our story is the story of the universe. Every piece of everyone, of everything you love and everything you hate, of the thing you hold most precious, was assembled by the forces of nature, transformed in the hearts of the stars or created in their fiery deaths. And when you die, those pieces will be returned to the universe in the endless cycle of death and rebirth.
What a wonderful thing it is to be a part of that universe. What a story, what a majestic story.
— Professor Brian Cox
When you are having a bad day, think about just how incredible it is that you are alive. No matter your struggle, big or small, it helps you appreciate yourself just that much more. ♥

True... and we humans are so small, fragile and short lived compared to it.
ZoZoYah Featured By Owner Mar 11, 2018
Yes but how do you even know what universe looks like to begin with? Or what it actually is? Is this all based on the medias that portrayed the universe of how you really view it? Reality is more stranger than the myths that were spoon fed to us.

"After sleeping through a hundred million centuries, we have finally opened our eyes on a sumptuous planet, sparkling with color, bountiful with life. Isn't it a noble and enlightened way of spending our brief time in the sun? To work at understanding the universe and how we have come to wake up in it."~Richard Dawkins

It's amazing how rich and complex our world, the universe and life itself is. Our world already has a lot of unique species and creatures and no doubt, other planets may also share the same. The universe, like you said, also has the most amazing and awe-inspiring things to exist. Not to mention the cycle of life and death which is something intriguing and beautiful. :aww: Great stamp! Totally agree! :D

But also in shame when I look at the human race Stare
Mother nature crafted some amazing stuff yet humans were a mistake, a big one :P

You mean, the universe we are destroying? c:>
ltty-bitty Featured By Owner May 14, 2015
Lol, I think you mean earth, I don't think the universe is even 1% affected by any of earths pollution/Advances/exploration. If there's life out there they probably think we're a joke
AqueHoodie Featured By Owner May 14, 2015  Hobbyist Digital Artist
No, i meant universe. We are slowly destroying earth and it has been talked about, mainly from the goverment and such. To move us to another planet if possible...

but other than that i agree , humans are disgusting lol .
ltty-bitty Featured By Owner May 14, 2015
Again, even if we manage to hop to another planet, that would take years and then eventually we will run out of planets to inhabit in our solar system and kill the 3/9 we could possible reach in future so nah, not so much universe, just a planet or two.
AqueHoodie Featured By Owner May 15, 2015  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Yeah, pretty much. I still believe its horrible either way.

Is it allright to redistribute this outside of dA as long as it links back to your account?

By the way I love Monty Python's Galaxy Song too and I was wayy too excited when I saw it mentioned in the credits!
