As you can see, I am the worst at keeping any sort of journal. However, I promise to make some more posts when I get the time (heh). My photography is coming along better than I expected, as you can see. I got a compliment from someone ("You're developing an eye for composition" *swoon*), and with that buoying my spirits...I think I can definitely call this my one artistic format. Don't think that I am discounting my writing, but that's more of a evocation -- a calling, if you will -- than art. I got a better camera, so I thought I would take it out and try some photography slightly outside my comfort zone (which is almost everywhere outside of my house).  I'm really proud of the pictures, even more proud of some of the editing I was able to do with the program that came with the camera.  Who knows, I might be able to use some of these as covers for something? I do have some idea for staged pictures with myself and some friends (if they'll agree to it).  Maybe after I really get a good head for editing, I'll work on some staged pictures. Wish me luck.

I thought I would try to take a couple more pictures today before I headed off to work -- and there was a squirrel kind enough to oblige me by sitting still while I frantically set up the tripod and camera. On the upside, I am getting faster at setting everything up. On the downside, my toes would much rather I sacrifice precision and speed for not getting squished.  We are trying. I am getting some ideas for "artsy" sort of pictures, and I might have to call in a couple of favors to get some models (or a van and some chloroform, I'm not picky) and do some shoots with this modest camera and set-up I have.  I've been reading a book about comp
