From "The Narrative of Victor Karloch"
The final production piece.
Two years ago my friend from college, Kevin McTurk, who works as a professional puppeteer in Hollywood set off on his own personal dream project - "The Narrative of Victor Karloch"
It is a haunting Victorian era show done in the tradition of classic rod puppets. It was voiced over by the amazing Christopher Lloyd and Elijah Wood.
In the play the puppet suddenly sees a portrait of himself. This is it. When Kevin asked if I would shoot Christopher and create an oilgraph of him to be seen in the show...the answer of course was yes.
Everyone knows Christopher Lloyd is an incredible actor. He is also one of the most unassuming, down to earth and supportive of people. It was an honor to work with him.
I had about 10 minutes to work with him over at Paramount Studios and he was incredibly gracious. I shot on film with the knowledge that I had to incorporate his face with the costume of the puppet to be shot later (something I had never done). Perfect challenge...
Weeks later, this was the final Oilgraph. As of today I finally have the clearance to show it. I hope you like it...
