The White Tiger of Autumn

Description

I tried to create a kind of light/dark yin-yang composition here between the two main figures.

The White Tiger is one of the Four Symbols of the Chinese constellations. It is sometimes called the White Tiger of the West (西方白虎, Xī Fāng Bái Hǔ), and is known as Byakko in Japan, Baekho in Korea and Bạch Hổ in Vietnam. It represents the west and the autumn season.

This is my second entry for ^kuschelirmel's "Light into the Dark" Contest.

If you're curious how I colored the sky, I created a walkthrough of that process.

This piece is very eye-catching. You did wonderfully with the blending of the elements and the coloration of the landscape and tiger.

The landscape was put together flawlessly. I do not see any seams where one piece ends and another begins. That is not very easy to do. And the lighting is spot-on, especially on the tiger. Everything is clean-cut - there are no remnants of the original images you extracted from. Well done.

I love how you have a transition in the colors - it's very dramatic, but not too much so. I kind of see it as the tiger leaving a dreary past behind and moving forward into a much more vibrant future.

There is only one slight issue I see, and that's the perspective. There doesn't appear to be much distance between the animal and the tree due to how the landscape is laid out, so with the size difference, the tiger seems quite large in comparison. That would be easily remedied by making the tree a little larger. This is a very minor thing, though, so no worries. Everything else is just wow..

You have amazing editing skills. Keep up the great work. And good luck in the contest. You should do well.
