Just practicing...

I was warming up for a days work after being a bit down for a few weeks with respiratory thing/bug.
Im not good at the marker thing, but I figured I'd give it a try. Kinda sucks but Its on a 3x4 card, so I wont beat myself up too much , lol. The grays on the card look a little better , but my new cheapie scanner still does a good job keeping it from getting too washed out. I still HATE my inks...but since i was gonna drop markers in, I had felt i had to....Grrrrrrr.

From the TV show Supernatural to Watchmen, Jeffery Dean Morgan is fast becoming one of my favorite actors and his portrayal of the Comedian was awesome. While the Comedian comes off as a scumbag, there's this kinda gleam in his eye like he just enjoys the stuff he does---he kinda steals the show for the first half of the movie.

While Im a fan of Alan Moore, Im not a fan of the tone of stories like Watchmen. Thats not to say I don't appreciate the themes and the intellectual side of the story, but I see Super Heroes as escapism (like any other entertainment) and I don't have to see the unseemly side to know they're there . ( I know, if you've seen other posts, you know I'm a Wolverine fan so my statement might seem a tad hypocritical ...but thats discussion for another time ...)

Best way to describe my feelings on it is , there's this great line in Dark Knight " You either die a Hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain." I don't want to get to deep here, but I sometimes think, over time, we tear down things we love/enjoy either unconsciously or we look for deeper meanings when it doesn't need it.
But as far as darker , or more grounded stories go, variety is the spice of life so they say , so I know there's a time and place for everything ..........

I trying to learn PS and markers, but I know I have a long way to go where Im comfortable trying this on a regular basis.

Great likeness here of Jeffrey. You captured him while maintaining a very comic book style. Would love to see you tackle a book with likenesses like this...
