So you got a Ketucari, where do you begin playing?
Hi there, SilentFox-6 here giving you guys a little boost to the world of Ketucari and how to best use your time getting started in the group! There are so many things to do, it can get a bit overwhelming when you aren’t sure where to start, and I hope to make it just a little easier on you guys so you can get the biggest bang for your buck! As the owner of three elder ketucari and a member and admin since the first beta week, I’ve made my share of mistakes and learned a few tricks along the way, so tag along!
Important Concepts
The Site
Ketucari has an official website where many our activities and other functions (including shops and player inventory management) take place! You can find out how to join here: About the Site
Zones
You’ll hear people say zones a lot, and you may wonder what those are. These are areas in the universe with different flora and fauna that you’ll encounter in your playing of the game! You can find all the zones listed on the group's front page, organized by danger level. You’ll want to start all your early art in the beginner zones until you learn to increase your ketucari’s armor, as explained later.
Hallowed Tarn
This is a magical area of the world that allows you to submit an image and receive half your armor back if you’ve lost it, plus lots of neat stats. You can only submit one image a week though, so use it wisely. And don’t worry about the coins, those aren’t a mechanic yet. You can find the Tarn HERE.

First Stop - Skill Unlocks
The best place you can get started, many members agree, is in the wonderful world of Skills. We like to grab one or two physical skills right off the bat so that the entire world of battles is open to you as well. What are these, you may ask? Skills are attack, passive, and utilitarian tricks your ketucari can learn that will be displayed on your ketucari’s import log for use later on in battles and adventures.
Your first skills will be the physical and social skills listed in the Magic and Skills page. You can learn all three physical skills, and ONE of the social skills, so choose wisely which one your ketucari will want. Prompts for learning skills are extremely open-ended and must merely show the first time your ketucari has used the skill they're trying to learn.
Adventures
Adventure Stats and Bonus Items
When filling out your ketucari’s information, you may have noticed stats listed in the description, each one reading 0. Congrats! You’ve seen the start of one of the most vital components of adventuring! Stats determine how good your ketucari is at finding certains types of objects, the higher the statistic, the more stuff your ketucari might bring back to you! These statistics raise as you do adventures, so the best way to get more is to do more! There are other ways as well, but we will get into those later in the game.
Each stat brings you different items:
Luck will find you gold
Cunning will bring back animal parts such as leather and meat and claws
Willpower finds you ores and gems
Perception brings back herbs of all sorts
Intellect will find you more artifact pieces that you can put together.
And what of these other legendary bonuses? This may be a bit confusing if you don’t know what’s available, but you’ll catch on quick. Did you take a look at those social skills from quests earlier? You might have seen the Charm and Sly skills, these are adventure bonuses! They can find you a wild ketucari, or earn you extra gold your ketucari slips out a friend's purse. If you take to archeology, you’ll come across medallion pieces, which can build a medallion that finds you extra items on adventures. There’s always more companions and items appearing that give adventure bonuses, so just keep an eye out and collect as you go! Just remember to always list your bonuses if you’d like the roller to give you the rewards from them.
Adventure Types
There are three main adventure types and how to do/what you’ll earn from them. They are all important so don’t focus too hard on just one unless you have a plan. You’ll want to do all of them to help you in your early goal of Building Armor to raise your armor level and get you closer to the goal of Elder! Armor will take ore, gems, leather, and gold for buying gem slots, so keep that in mind while adventuring.
Venture: For these adventures, you can draw your ketucari hanging out, talking, goofing off, or whatever suits your fancy! You’ll only be receiving gold and stats in return unless you have bonus items though. This is a fun casual adventurer type, good for building up your gold hoard.
Prospecting: For these adventures you can either draw your character mining for ore and gems, or you can draw them discovering artifacts. In return, you get ore, gems and artifacts! A good trade indeed. You will also get any bonus item rewards and a small amount of gold.
Reaping: For these adventures you’ll be living off the land; hunt some fauna or collect herbs and in return you’ll get meat, leather, horns, and herbs, as well as a small amount of gold. The animals and plants are not required to be the same creatures listed in the group's journals, though we do love seeing members' takes on these canon critters.
Knock-Outs
Your first adventure came back and said you got a KO?! What’s that mean?! Don’t worry dear citizen, Knock Outs happen to everyone. An accident befell your ketucari while they were out adventuring, and they've taken a hit to their armor. If you had meat in your hoard and said yes to the auto-revive part of your form, you don’t even need to worry about it unless you have a battle coming up and want more armor. Being at 0 armor just prevents your ketucari from battling or adventuring. Here’s some ways to revive your poor child.
Apply meat: Go to the Hoard journal and hit apply items, feed your ketucari the meat in your hoard and they’ll be ready to go.
The Hallowed Tarn: Doing an image here gives you have armor back plus stats, how nifty!
Potions from the Market: You can buy potions from the market and apply these instead of meat. They give back lots of armor.
Zone Levels
Unlike Quests, Adventures will let you adventure in zones you don’t have the armor for! You’re at a very high risk of KO though, so make sure you’re ready for the consequences. These higher zones give higher level items.

Battles
You’re able to use the same skill over and over as an attack, so don’t be scared to spam that Rend! Just make sure that your ketucari’s opponent is of a decent size to fight. You may be turned away if your monster is drawn way too tiny and not worth the fight.
Here’s a list of some member favorites for first fights:
Battles come with two statistics that will build and help with future battles, Dexterity and Strength. Strength will increase your base hit power, so if you want to hit hard, get this stat up! Dexterity increases the accuracy of your hits, allowing you to miss less and deal more damage by hitting more often.
And every creature drops goods when they are fought! This is a good way to earn that leather and prepare for fighting in group events down the road. Don’t be scared to lose! Just feed that ketucari some meat, buff their stats, and try again!
