This is my portrayal of Greed in a series of sculptures depicting each of the seven deadly sins. Sloth is in the works.

I painted it a long while ago, but I haven’t gotten my hands on it all year because it has been out and about at local art shows. Anyways, painted in thin washes with latex paint, my own bbq/flesh red on top, gold belly and gloss medium in the mouth for super-spittle action! It took a loooong time to get all the nails… O_o. He has 42. Plus tail and 28 teeth. But ahh, how I adore him. If you are curious, there are several pre-painted views in my gallery.

check out the detail!

Emily! when I saw it last, before it was painted at all, it was cool. but now that it's done, it's fantastic. I hope I can see it in person sometime.

Crazy! I'd hate running into that thing... unless it's to scale. Wouldn't be too scared of a 1 ft thing.... A little shocked at first, sure, but I mean, what would it be able to do to me? Not much, I'll tell you that much.

If it were anywhere from 3 times bigger plus, I think I may wet my pants, however.
Anyways, great detail in the hands and face. I like how it looks wet around its mouth, very realistic and all.
Really great shadeing job that you did around the eyes and upper lip.
And the palms. I envy the palms.

The colors are blended really great.

Thank you very much for noticing all of the details! :D :D :D I like your sculptures- especially the detail in the killer plant ^_^ What do you use and how did you get into mario fanart?

Oh yeah, what did you use for the glossy look on his mouth?

acrilic gloss medium. I really had to slather it on! I think clear nailpolish would have done a better job

The plant... uh..
My medium is super sculpey (I'm not sure, but it looks like you did the same on this) and then I painted it with accrylic.
That particular sculpture had a wooden base with some nails in the top and then clay over it (the nails to hold the clay on) and just some random pipe I found...

I've been playing nintendo since I was four, so I guess I'm just a fan? I guess I really liked the Super NES or something.

That and I can't really think of many things that are original :-p

that's /awesome/, and even the photo's really good. I especially like the front fingers where they're touching the ground.

mm, even if the most time and detail was put into the top large hands, i feel the bottom ones were very expressive ^_^
