The messaging app on Chante’s phone buzzed, and they paused in trying to figure out how to put on the shirt they were trying on to fish their phone from the pocket of their shorts.
Ah, a message from Baggie! The younger Dainty was on vacation with their parents to visit a city famed for its gardens, and had been kept busy wandering with their parents. Their father was apparently determined to visit every garden he could. Chante would have thought a vacation meant taking a break from the things you did all the time, but apparently, Baggie’s father thought a vacation meant doing the same things he always did, but spending money to do them instead of being paid for it.
