Lava Dragon

Please excuse the title, I couldn't come up with an original name
I initially made this for the Ancient, Strange & Lovely paperback cover [link]
I made all kinds of versions to sold it [link] but the editor didn't like them,
well they can't all be winners...

Once I finished the original cover for the novel, I came back and revisited
this guy, I have no idea why I added those circles (maybe a desperate attempt
to centralize the composition) but this piece is a clear example why you
shouldn't overwork the figure or the overall painting, this piece didn't work
for some reason and I was blinded by the hours I put into it to finally see
that.
