UPDATE JAN 1, 2018

FAQ + TOS - Work Queue - Commissions - Note Me

I can't believe it's 2018?!
I graduated high school in '08, so it's incredibly mind blowing to me that it's been 10 years already! I'm almost 30- oh gosh (O.O)
I figured now is as good a time as any to update all of you on what's been going on in my life, and what my plans are for 2018.

My Health:

Unfortunately, it's been 4 months and I'm still no closer to finding relief from my symptoms. I have yet to receive a diagnosis and doctors seem to be stumped. I'm hoping that a new year and more appointments and testing means I'll find some answers and achieve peace of mind/body. If there are days where I'm quiet or not online- assume that I'm too ill to get out of bed.

My Work:

My current physical limitations directly affect how much I can do everyday. Lights and sounds can sometimes trigger debilitating migraines, so there are times I'll avoid even picking up my phone. A delay in responding to you does NOT mean I am ignoring you, am angry at you, etc. It simply means I'm unable to answer at that point in time. Deviation comments, dA notes, dA group messages, discord chats, and emails will ALWAYS be answered- it just takes me a little longer sometimes.
In terms of art, I would like to assure my clients, commissioners, and watchers that I am determined to work on art each and every day. I usually put in anywhere from 8-12 hours of work a day, sometimes if I feel well enough I'll even push it to 16h. However, there are days where I can barely lift my tablet pen, due to pain and muscle fatigue. There are going to be times where I will put my physical wellbeing over art. It doesn't mean that I am procrastinating or avoiding doing work on our piece. Normally, if it looks like I'm going to be bedridden for a few days, I'll directly message you to let you know.
First and foremost- I try to be open, honest, and respectful when I work with clients. I follow my TOS very closely- if I feel like I'm unable to finish your work, I will refund you. However, in the past few months this has never been a problem- I'm pretty stubborn and determined to finish whatever I start. ; ) If you EVER have any questions for me- please, don't hesitate to contact me!!

My Art:

Unfortunately, a lot of 2017 was so crazy, I didn't do art until the end of it. I spent the first half of 2017 getting my nursing accreditation and working 40+ hours a week in that industry. By August, though, I started to get ill... and in October my symptoms made me enough of a liability that I had to step down from my position and go on medical leave. While on medical leave, I finally started getting active on this website (and others) again and reconnecting with my art.
I think there's a lot I'm still rusty on- and there's SO many things I want to get better at.
In 2018, I'd like to focus on challenging myself and my skills. I'd like to grow as an artist, and learn more. I hope to make more connections with fellow artists. And finally- I'd like to shift to doing art as my full time job. Unfortunately, I don't have any answers about my illness. I don't know if this is something I'll be stuck with forever. And if it is something permanent, I can't possibly go back into nursing. This means I need to find a mode of income that'll support me, while also taking my physical limitations into account. Art is a good option. It means I don't have to struggle to walk/leave my house. I can sit in a comfortable chair instead of putting my sore joints. I can even lay in bed and work, if needed. I really hope that I can produce better work in 2018, and take one step closer to making my life and income more stable.

My Thanks.

The events of 2017 proved to me that you can never predict the future. There's no telling what, exactly, 2018 will be like. But I can HOPE for better things, and actively take the steps to make it a reality. A lot of the goals and dreams I have rely on my own determination and dedication. But some of it relies on others, too. And in that sense, I hope that 2018 gives me positive interactions with others <3
I'd like to thank each and every one of my friends (you know who you are) and my clients for all of their support in 2017.
I look forward to being in your care in 2018.

I wish everyone a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2018!
