Oh man, Nick Cave and Tom Waits in the same painting! Love the colors here again, and the guys screaming in the background make me laugh.
Yeah, you are one of the few to notice the guys in the background...glad you found the painting! This one utilized that 'CF Payne' technique I talked a little about (the one with oil, watercolor, acrylic, etc, separated by the spray)
Cohen, Young, Costello, Waits, Cave Dylan, and Rotten? You...Rock. All of my boyfriends...hah! just kidding obviously.
No, you were right the first time..it's Johnny Rotten...you have good taste, that's for sure! Not many youngsters like you are into all of those people...Costello has always been very near the top of my list, and Waits is way up there as well. About the only one in that group I don't really listen to much is Dylan and Cave (though I have stuff by both).
Nick Cave is amazing to me. The music he did with the Bad Seeds is a lot different from his early band The Birthday Party...a little rougher around the edges...you should have a listen if you don't already! Tom Waits is of course my favorite though.
Yeah, I have heard him here and there...the one I remember is a song he did on the Until the End of the World soundtrack....but, yeah, Tom Waits rules!
