Practicing animation and SFX in iClone, and made this techno music track to go with it. Characters were composed in CC3, then animated and rendered in iClone 7. Hope you like it and thanks for coming by!

It surely can, but since this is an animation rendered in real-time, multiple lights would slow things down, so I chose to use HDRI as the sole source of light to speed things up. You can clearly see the light "source" is on the left, causing the right side of the models to be darker, which is good for depth and contrast. However, the HDRI probe I have used was diffuse, so it will not produce sharp shadows. You can compare this to a photograph taken in overcast or foggy weather - you can barely see any ground shadows. As a matter of fact, you can see fog on the ground. The important thing is that the characters got shaded by the lighting. This brings focus to the characters, providing depth and contrast.

Real-time renderers never seem to be good for high-quality work.

HDRI can produce subtle lighting and shadow effects, with the right renderer:

Thank you! I have been trying my hand on iClone for a couple of years now, but only became more active with it on the current version 7. It made significant leaps in technology and usability.

I have never considered iClone until version 6 came out with real-time PBR rendering and a number of other state-of-the-art tech, like SpeedTrees, DX11 tessellation, vector displacement, and native support for Substance dynamic materials. That was impressive, but version 7 introduced facial mocap with a webcam, I-ray integration, InstaLOD, and a new tool called "Transformer", capable of importing mainstream Poser/DS figures, complete with morphs and materials, and use them natively in iClone. That was a game changer.
