I'm me. You are you. Here we are.
I am serious but always silly. I have ZERO training in the visual arts but started in theater on the stage as a little girl and stayed with it until my early 20's when I met a cowboy and gave it all up to be with him. Most of the time I was alone on the 16 acres out in the middle of nowhere in our tiny house and that's when I began drawing which led to painting which led to picture taking which led to photomanipulation... 10 years later I don't have the cowboy but what I do have is this ENORMOUS interest in GIMP (and other open source software). He smelled bad and drank too much but I owe every second I spend on here to him. Who knows where I'd be if I hadn't - probably in some city center, hating every minute of it, all stressed out as a producer of some off-Broadway show with a 2 bit actress and a buffoon for an actor. ...other than that - it's just me myself, and I. Together we raise one beautiful and magnificently intelligent daughter who is now 5. Her dad is not with us right now. I'm sure if you browse my collections, you will gather why. I am very outspoken in my beliefs and opinions on the US's way of dealing with crime and drug convictions. I whole heartedly feel we are warehousing these people when they need rehabilitated and not just these little 90 day programs. Rehab their whole thought processes on how to live then put them back out on the streets far, far, far from where they came from. If the gov't really wanted to stop meth, they'd make pseudo illegal not just hard to get. Just like alcohol, they don't give a shit. Can you imagine how many people would be out of work if the war on drugs was successful?!? All those task forces, special investigation units, companies that produce the weapons and special devices they use to build cases with. Everything in life is a trade. For all those families with jobs, there's other families that are torn apart by someone having (and needing) to go away. But hey! Sadness does make some kick ass art! So I wouldn't have it any other way
