The Cloudbreaker

I've never really been able to say something like this, but I think, I'm finally and honestly happy with my style.

I was always rarely proud of my works and usually skeptical, as everyone probably can relate with. You look at your own work and just sigh as you size yourself up against those bigshot artists with crazy techniques, skills, styles and knowledge in general. But then theres those odd few drawings you make where you really do feel like you did your best, and exceeded your expectations, and only you appreciate it that much-- nobody else can see the way you see it as an improvement that's beyond you. And it makes you happy to be able to say, "I made that!" Because I feel like I've improved this year!

This painting was inspired by RHADS 's painting, Nature Salvation. It's an absolute dream and stunner to look at.

You mention in the description for this that you're finally happy with the style you've attained in your art. I think that's a major struggle as an artist, or at least I know it is for me, because I'm always afraid that I'll fall into the rut of "striving for my own style" each time I make something, instead of making work and just having it happen to come out the way I would make it. I think growth as an artist requires constant experimentation and evolution, which can be frustrating at times when you're trying to come up with a consistent output.

That being said, I recognized this as your work the instant I saw it, following a piece I remember favoriting and critiquing some time back now. I love this one even more than that previous one, and I think what's so wonderful about the style you've developed is that it's so unique, you can stick to it without re-treading old ground each time. There's so much uncharted territory with it, and each piece that I've seen feels related to but completely distinct from all your others. Your use of line and light are as gorgeous as ever, and the colors in this piece are phenomenal. As far as interpretations go, I wish I could piece together some explanation for the beam of light coming down from the center of the page, but I absolutely love the flowing hair sort of echoing the movements of ocean waves, almost as though the figure is hiding beneath the water and is looking back at us, unhappy to be disturbed in her tranquility.

Again, really wonderful piece, and congratulations on your much deserved fulfillment with your sense of style. This has earned five stars on every account as far as I'm concerned

omg wow so beautiful. I am sorry to say anything critical, but if I may... you do request critique.
the one and only 'flaw' to this infinite perfection and beauty is the way the back is registering from a medium/small view. I think if you could possibly just ad a tiny bit more definition to really identify the back as a back - it would look better, even though it is obvious the way the neck is turned, just the shading and the deep v looks like a distoreded chest and sagging cleavage in a way. you might be able to change it by only tapering in the waist more making the back more of a V. i know that its realistic that her arms would be down at her sides and making the black edges of her body end where you have them, but i think if you just pinched it in as though her arms were totally infront of her or didnt exist at all, then it would be very obvious that the line is a back, since breasts would bulge out on the sides. i hope that makes sense. i love the colors and emotion here. your style is so glowing and wonderful mixing flat and shaded elements. i like that this one has a sense of darkness to it which some of your other pieces do not have.

fix the symmetry of the shirt and the neck....maybe give some form to the spine so that it looks like her back instead of just a plain gradation of light

Thanks Yosh!!! It's fine, I do request critiques to get a little bit of constructive feedback and I totally do agree with you! I'd never drawn a back before, so it was kind of weird and awkward to get a composition that worked. Really should have tried to make it more distinctive as a back haha, only looking at it now in retrospect, do I also see what you mean by it looks like saggign cleavage!

Thanks so much Yosh!!!!

its only at first glance or far away, when you get close you can totally see whats happening. :) first back? wow.

I really like the uniqe style!
In all of ur work you have it and keep working on it.
This one i really adore, the color sheme is so dreamy the expression of the person !
Even the title is great haha all works together and makes a beautiful piece of art out of it!

Keep up ur style work on it and bring more of ur visions on "paper" or computer haha.

The birds are for my opinion a bit too much in the foreground u should put the whole focus on the center of the drawing . I personally thing they should be abit more in the background or smaller.

The hair is so damn nice the coloration the outlining ur badass man ! keep up ur work and take my love!!!!

In loooove with this piece. Absolutely amazing as always, I love the soft white tones in this one with the clouds but its contrasted with the sharpness of the hair. The subtle redness is also interesting too, I love how you incoporated the birds i makes it look so angelic. I love her expression too, she actually has an expression if that makes sense. Your artwork always amazes me! This has to be one of my favourite pieces to be honest. Keep up the good work! Making me all jelly and shiz Haha jokes jokes, can't wait for more from you, keep it up!

I've been a watcher of yours and yet I feel like I haven't seen half of your art! Which is such a pleasant surprise for me because I can now look at your work and be amazed by it. This is just gorgeous and very stunning. I can tell you really like that flowy hair style. But also the transition from her to the clouds is so creative! Very beautiful.

I read your description as well and I completely hear you. I'm still in that phase where I "size [myself] up against those bigshot artists with crazy techniques, skills, styles and knowledge in general." But it encourages me to see that an accomplished artist such as yourself went through such a season of life as well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and your art!

I know where you are coming from. I love going to museums and think, why can't I do work like that?
Yet, I still enjoy my work, from time to time I can step back and say, " damn woman you out did yourself!" as I kiss my hands! Well you know no one else is going to do it!

Now, moving on, If Cloudbreaker was mine I would have been kissing both hands for it is beyond lovely! Good thing you are not here are I might have embarrassed you. I might have kissed your hands. Awkward!!! LOL
