This little piece was actually from late 2016, a commissioned piece from Winsor & Newton themselves! It was such a huge deal for me. I can still remember so clearly the moment they reached out and asked for me to create this piece for them. Still gives me shivers!
I've always had this idea in my head that butterflies symbolise a form of shallow beauty. For me, I'm terrified of butterflies and insects for that matter. From afar they're beautiful to look at for all their colours and those beautiful patterns. But up close? N O W A Y .
It's like the saying, "beauty is only skin deep." Despite all those layers, people can still see right through you.
