Having been on devianArt for over 10 years, it's easy to see the improvement in digital art along with an increasing understanding of spacial depth and character interaction.

Deviantart has been a way to explore others' art and display my own.

Question for everyone - Colored Pencil tutorial?

Journal Entry: Thu Oct 18, 2012, 11:44 AM
Hey guys.

I've had a number of requests, through various channels, for more art tutorials.  I'm planning on a colored pencil tutorial.
My question for you all is this:

Is there a specific art piece you'd like to see me color in the tutorial?

It can be anything. Something I've already done. Something I haven't colored yet (may be a good way to get me to color that piece you've always wanted me to).

Also, if there any other kinds of tutorials you want to see me do, this would be a great place to note that...  I'll be easier for me to keep track of them this way.

Thanks y'all,
Kelly

Off to Comic Con!

If you're going and see a tall girl with glasses and short, fuzzy blue/purple hair, come say hi! It's me!

Yes, I totally changed my deviantArt username.

Journal Entry: Wed May 16, 2012, 10:04 PM
I've actually wanted to rename my profile for a LONG time, so it matches with everything else... Twitter, Instagram, AIM, Green Day Community...

When I noticed that a bunch of the users have changed their usernames I looked it up!  YAY!  (you have to be a premium member to do it, so most of you won't be able to).

So now I am Kelly42Fox!

It's going to be a busy weekend!

Resolution?  Do a sketch every day in 2012.

I can't wait until Xmas!

Journal Entry: Sat Nov 26, 2011, 6:41 PM
I get to see my family.

With the way the last couple months have been, I really need it.

Anyone have awesome winter vacation plans?

Does anyone want a Commission?

Journal Entry: Mon Nov 14, 2011, 10:42 AM
I'm open up for art commissions.

I don't have many rules for commissions (i.e. this would be a great opportunity to get a caricature drawing of you and Green Day)
:bulletgreen: Computer or Web graphics: Icons/signatures/wallpapers
:bulletgreen: Portraits: Pencil or Photoshop
:bulletgreen: Caricatures: Pencil Sketch or Colored Pencil or Photoshop
:bulletgreen: Tattoo designs

If you're interested, please note me for further information and pricing.

Who's ready for Halloween?!

Journal Entry: Sun Oct 23, 2011, 7:11 PM
I still don't know what I'm going to be!

I'm feeling better, so I will be getting you guys the Green Day Halloween costumes for this year!!

I have a cold.

Journal Entry: Thu Oct 20, 2011, 9:20 AM
It sucks.

I was going to be working on my Halloween pieces this week and weekend, but I'm not sure if I'm going to get to it.  I can barely keep my head upright.

I honestly don't know how I'm going to make it through work.

Again.  Sorry guys.

We'll see what happens.

Wallpapers have been removed from my gallery

Journal Entry: Tue Oct 18, 2011, 10:12 AM
I have been accused of copyright infringement by a fellow Deviant, using images without permission of the original photographer (despite stating that I did not take the images).

To avoid any question or further trouble, I have removed all wallpapers from my gallery that use images that I did not take/create personally.

Sorry guys.

I'm the last person who wants to be accused of art theft because I work hard to protect other people's art.  So this is really bothering me.

... I'm so tired...

Where does the time go?!

Update - Reorganization of my Galleries

Journal Entry: Wed Sep 7, 2011, 2:33 PM
This has been something that I've been toying with for a long time.  While I like the idea of having all my art in one ordered location, I have decided to split up my art by utilizing the 'Scraps' area. There are different levels of attention that I pay to my art pieces, and I would like to showcase the ones that were more laborious or 'loved', especially since my recent galleries were getting so large (I've been doing a lot of art, apparently!!!).

PLEASE PLEASE, if you are one of my watchers and want to see all the art I submit, ensure that you have viewing scraps enabled for my account.  I will begin to submit my sketches directly to Scraps.

All of my art is still available, but half of it has been moved to the 'Scraps'.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Down time? Where did this come from?

Journal Entry: Wed Aug 24, 2011, 1:42 PM
Yeah... I'm kinda not inspired to draw anything right now...

It's hard to be creative when all you want to do is sleep.  There's no real reason for it, but I do know that I don't really have anything to look forward to...  After the way the rest of this year has gone, with one thing after another, I'm surprised that I have any energy left... But it also leaves me in a space where I don't know how to deal with down time...

I've been reading a bunch of manga.  Anyone have any suggestions for a good shojo/action series?

Random Factoid:  I own more animated than live action films/TV shows.

I want to finish reading Kyuukyoku Venus!!!!!!!

Journal Entry: Mon Aug 15, 2011, 4:39 PM
Oh, for the love...

Kyuukyoku Venus (or Ultimate Venus, in the US) is from my fav mangaka!  The company that was publishing it in the US went out of business, and no other company has picked up the license!
The manga is complete in Japan.

If anyone knows where I can get volumes 6-9 (chapter 23 on), PLEASE PLEASE let me know!  I REALLY, REALLY want to finish this story!

I'm mostly pleading to those who are in Japan, or know Japanese. Since I've SCOURED the internets for scanlations and haven't found anything, I'm pretty sure I'm outta luck.  I have money...

NO RANDOM FACTOID!

Green Day at the Tiki Bar

Journal Entry: Fri Aug 12, 2011, 9:46 AM
Yesterday was an emotional rollercoaster. Yes, I got to see them play... Sorta...

I didn't actually get a ticket to go, but several other hardcore fans and I stuck around.  We listened to the 20 new songs through the windows.

That window, there...

The new songs have a sound like the Foxboro Hot Tubs.  They're clearly more rock than punk.  They brought back the guitar solo!

The Tiki Bar let the hardcore fans that were left outside in for the last three songs, after they had finished playing the new music. As expected, they were amazing!  SO CLOSE!  They looked so good.  It was almost like I had gone back to 1997!

I got to talk to Adrienne and Kevin Preston after the show (Kevin recognized me from the Emily's Army/Prima Donna show last week!).  I said 'hi' to Mike. He recognized me and gave me a high five! I will never get over how good their memories are!!!

And my prize... I got to take home one of Tre's drumsticks!!! I will love it forever.

There were so many other fans there who I love, and I'm so happy I got to see them again!  They're my friends and understand how I feel about the band.

It was an amazing experience, and I'm so lucky to have been able to witness it!

Three Shows in Three Days

Journal Entry: Sat Aug 6, 2011, 8:05 PM
Wednesday = Fever Charm, Emily's Army and Prima Donna
Thursday = Fever Charm, Emily's Army
Friday = Jesse Malin

Epic shows.  Good music.

Wednesday was epic because EVERYONE seemed to show up.  Bill Schneider, John Gallagher, Serena Williams, Adrienne, and Billie Joe were there.  And obviously, Kevin Preston, since he played (Prima Donna).

Adie and almost ALL their family in LA showed up at the show on Thurs.

Emily's Army were AWESOME!  I have to say, they just keep getting better.  I'm serious. They showed a significant boost in energy and confidence since I saw them in May.  They are such awesome, respectful boys.
Fever Charm, friends of EA, were fabulous as well.  Their bass player made my jaw hit the floor, he was so good...
Jesse Malin didn't disappoint.  I felt bad that he had to play such a shitty venue...  It just didn't fit his style...  It was almost like playing in a Hard Rock.  :(

Before you guys ask, I didn't talk to Beej or Adie.  They were contending with swarms of people, and I didn't want to add to that.  It was just great to see them so close.

Random Factoid: Cucumbers make me burp.

Back from Comic Con, life goes on

Journal Entry: Tue Jul 26, 2011, 10:18 AM
Well.  Comic Con is over.  It was super cool.

I got to see the Batman Year One animated movie.  It was really true to the comic, which was really cool to see.  The movie was like the book coming to life.
The discussion panel after the movie was hilarious.  Bruce Timm is a snarky ass. Andrea Romano is surprisingly open to say anything.  Ben McKenzie is adorable.  Katee Sackhoff is bubbly.  Bryan Cranston has a dirty mind.  LOL. Great combo.

I saw the Castle TV show panel. Nathan Fillion.

I got to meet Nicholas Brendon (Xander from Buffy) and Eddie McLintock (from Warehouse 13).  They are both quite sweet.

And of course, the comics... so many books!

My weeks are filling up already.  And here I thought I was going to get a break from the crazy... Maybe a chance to chill out... nope....

I'm getting my stomach scoped tomorrow... I'm really nervous about it.  I don't like going to the doctor as it is, but this time they're going to put me under...  :(

Random Factoid:  I'm pretty sure I bought my car from one of LA's Italian mob's legitimate businesses... I swear.
