Shiek Ilderim from the movie Ben-Hur. He is a great character who adds a little comic relief to the film while not being the "fat idiot" character type.

Messala: A Roman is ten times a Jew...or an Arab.
Shiek: Bravely spoken.

Other characters:
Judah Ben-Hur

Noble Romans, men of the Tiber, masters of the Earth...
...where is the courage that made Rome master of the world?
I can get better odds on any street market.

Hugh Griffith did an outstanding job as the shiek. He added a lot of comic relief within the film to add a spark to it. No wonder he got his Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.

I like it when he says to the first incompetent chariot driver: Whip my children once and I'll drain every drop of your blood.

This is a great pic. It captures the spirit of the character-- and manages to make him look even better than he did in the film (as the actor looked like he'd been darkened with shoe polish). Here, you make him look like an actual Arab guy. Good job!

Thank you very much, Joanne! You're right, he did look awfully shiny in the film.
