Found a nice little pond a few kilometers outside town with a broad variety of water birds. Among them, an Eurasian Teal (Anas crecca) in front, and behind it, a Ringed Teal (Callonetta leucophrys), feeding peacefully side by side.

I like how the two different species are swimming side by side :), almost so that you can compare them. I wonder, how did you manage to find them both wild in the same area? (seeing as how the eurasian teal is native to europe and asia and the ringed teal is native to south america)

I've been wondering about that too, since it's a relatively small pond, but nevertheless 10-12 different species of ducks live there in perfect harmony. One of the locals told me that they have been there for many years, but quite a few of them didn't survive the last two cold winters. I'll definitely go back there in the spring to see them in their beautiful breeding plumage :D
