I can imagine people going around and pulling legs off grasshoppers now, trying to get a shot as great as this one. It really is amazing. Its eyes are almost hypnotizing.

Thank you, Susan. I think it's more likely a bird that has deprived him of his leg. I saw a blackbird doing exactly that to another grasshopper last year. Anyway, he can still find food, so hopefully he'll be OK. And thanks a lot for the fav :)
