Saudi Arabia has certainly been working hard to improve its tainted Human Rights image lately. In September 2015 the royal dictatorship was appointed head of the U.N. Human Rights Council, and just last week, in a secret ballot, the fundamentalist monarchy was awarded a 2018-2022 term on the Commission on the Status of Women, the U.N. agency “exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women.” (UN Watch)
Not to forget that the CIA recently honoured a Saudi Crown Prince with a medal for his distinct intelligence-related counter-terrorism work and his contributions to ensure international peace and security. Now we just need the Wahhabi regime to allow women to drive and to stop its genocidal bombing campaigns in Yemen.
