Gotcha! by KeldBach Gotcha! by KeldBach
I didn't stalk him this time. I just sat down in the middle of his territory, patiently waiting for him to get within shooting range. And it worked. After only ten minutes, I had him almost fill out my viewfinder, and this is the result. He's a Common Blue Butterfly (Polyommatus icarus). Also see:

Great shot, so far Ive only been able to get shots of the Common Blue when they have their wings closed, and I tend to have to chase them around, the teases! lol :d

That's about the only way to get close to these little guys! It's tough when they have a whole field to choose from!

It's too aggravating when they choose every other flower patch but the one I'm watching.... :)

Patience can be learned, I believe. Might help you to get a nice close-up of your Hummingbird ;)

I was actually sitting outside in my chair next to the birds for a while. I usually sit out there after I feed my birds waiting to see what birds happen upon the yard. ;) Thats as much patience as I have.

Sometimes it's also a matter of being in the right place at the right time. Perhaps that's more your virtue ;)

Did you bribe the butterfly with candy too? Because I wait and wait, but they just fly away...

Great photo. Nice colours. :D
