A most amazing flower erupted on top of my common Houseleek (Sempervivum) this morning. 105mm macro lens + 48mm of extension tubes + focus stacking.

Great shot! I think it is a flower of the Sempervivum family. It doesn't grow naturally here but I have some in the garden. They are great!

Yes, you're right, the scientific name is Sempervivum and there are about 40 different species [link]

Oh I am sorry. I thought houseleek means sth else. That is why I mentioned the scientific name... Anyway, now both names are mentioned :-)
