It's some scaffolding. They were doing some maintenance or repair work on the bridge while I was there :)

Thanks very much. The lighting wasn't too great that day, but the HDR treatment helped to get the most out of it :)

Thanks again. Prague is indeed a fascinating city, but unfortunately it's packed with tourists most of the time. It takes at least an hour to walk from one end of the bridge to the other. Just notice all the people waiting to get up there to the left. And this was taken outside the tourist season. In spring and summertime it's even worse :(

it has been on my bucket list for a while. when does the city wake or is there a certain day it sleeps in?

I have discovered at large cities in the US early morning is often deserted on the weekends. it looks like it would be a pleasure to shoot... kind of sounds like moving around in Disney world though.

I don't think any particular day is better than others, but early morning before 9 should be fine. I've visited Prague 4-5 times, but never been inside any of the main attractions, because the queues are simply too long. You can easily spend 2-3 hours in a queue to buy a ticket and then spend another 2-3 hours waiting to get inside the premises. But then again, getting there early in the morning will speed things up.

I'm sure you would enjoy to go shooting there. And the food in Prague is excellent and not very expensive :)

I appreciate the info... now all I have to do is live long enough to clear this list.

I have a long list too - topped by Istanbul and Marrakech, but I've come to realise that I haven't seen much of my own country yet, so I think I'll do something about that this year :D
