Yea, when I was a child there were still Gypsies leading a bear along the streets and they made him dance. After the bear danced, they would give him beer. He was very happy about the beer. Um...

I remember seeing that too. Funny to watch, but the bear was kept in a very small cage. I don't think that's allowed anymore...

Actually, I have seen a friendly bear! LOL! If you look at my gallery, you will find a photo of me with a bear at the Toledo Zoo that just LOVED people and he would stay at the glass and put his face down by the seal of the glass and "blow" at you and put his paws up on the glass to "touch" you! It was amazing!!! I couldn't believe it! The locals told me that he always does it because he loves people.....

The problems with bears is that they lack mimic. But yes, I would say I saw a frienly bear yet ^^

The females and the cubs were playing around quite happily, but the male was kept alone next to them, and he looked a bit frustrated to me.

Thanks, Hanafae :) No, he doesn't look too happy. There were two of these bears in a rather small enclosure, so that's probably why.

Ah, he doesn't like his roommate now, does he? :D Then I fully understand him, I can't stand roommates either :XD:

Lol, perhaps that's the problem. Bears are used to having a large territory of their own to roam about, and that's certainly not the case here :)

That's right, Jen, but I mean in real life ;) Actually, these bears should not be held in captivity, as they are quite common in most of Europe and Asia. Zoos should only be for rare and endangered species, I think.

No, unfortunately I have never seen a bear in the wild. I was hoping to when I was in Yellowstone, but it didn't happen. :(
