... or so they say. Still has busy as a rooster in a hen house. I thought I would have had some time in September to go over the soooooo many photos I still have to look at properly. Alas, something came up as it always does.

I was not even planning on doing a calendar this year, but friends and family have been asking about it, so I found 4 hours today to get it all done.

Christmas is just around the corner. It is quite chilly here in Tokyo, but the temperature is going up and down like a yo-yo. someday I can wear just a t-shirt outside in the sun.  Yeah to global warming... if only!

When I get the time to look at random work here on DA, I am ALWAYS surprised. There are just SOOOOOO many great artists out there. I wish had the time to look at all the great stuff here. The power of the internet and software like Photoshop, Illustrator etc seems to have unleashed a wave of creatively across the globe, and let people share it too. I am sure 20 years ago there were very many talented oil painting artists etc, who never had the chance to get there work out there. Digital is taking artwork to the masses, this has to be a good thing. I get inspired by others work, and so it goes...

Well enough of my rant.

Regardless of your beliefs, this is the season to be happy, be kind to your fellow man, and make the world a better place.

The world truly is amazing, and I hope it stays that way.

Time sure does go quickly the older you get. I have so many photos going back to the beginning of time... well at least this year that I would love to put up, but can't seem to find the time.

I would like to spend more time looking at other people's work on here, but still can't find the time. There certainly are a lot of talented people on here, and many of them have very few page views or comments.

Well the weather in Tokyo has been really whacky this summer, oh the joys of Global Warming.

Well, that's all folks.

I was in Australia for about 3 weeks, half of which I was on tour with KISS. Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney.

I took a lot of photos, hope to get them on line soon... but I have so many photos going back many months I need to go through as well.

Underbelly TV drama in Australia is pretty good. If it comes on DVD, I recommend you get it, if it does not screen in your country.

Stay tuned.

I was in Rome for nearly 2 weeks over Xmas and New Years. I walked across the city many times, saw undress of old building and of course all the famous ones too.

I took over 2000 photos, so I am going through them slowly. I took so many that I will have to hand stitch together to make panoramas. I have done about 20 of them so far... I wonder how many more...  at least it will give me something to do in the evenings.

I hope you enjoy the photos from Rome.

I took just one lens with me, the Tamrom 2.8 28 - 70mm DX Fi... something or other. Great lens. All the night shots were hand held of sitting on something handy. No tripod. No filters either. The blue skies in Rome were AMAZING for photos.

We are having a crazy summer here in Japan.

It started 2 weeks late. There has not been much sunshine. Temperature varies a lot... the joys of global warming. It is so humid now... I long for the nice waters of Saipan and I would love to take some more fish photos there too.

I managed to get my photos from my summer in the mountains up really quickly... but I still did not put nay up from my trip in May, and that included some cool wild monkey shots.

Guess I will get around to them sometime.

Howdy all,

I spent almost 3 weeks in the UK.

I took a few thousand photos. Most of them were old buildings and such, things I don't normally take photos off.  I don't think too many of them will be the kind of "wow" photos that one can take of animals etc.  But I hope you like them anyway.

There will be castles and old churhces etc. I really enjoyed seeing so many old places I have only read about for the last 35 years.

Cheers!

Saipan, Bali and Singapore

Tue Sep 27, 2005, 7:03 AM
Two weeks of fun.

Well I just got back from 2 weeks of fun in Saipan (a small Island in the Pacific), Bali (Indonesia) and Singapore.

I had a great time snorkelling and such in Saipan. (My 7th time there)

I loved walking out in the rice feilds of Bali and the food was (mostly) good too.

And Singapore was over all great too. A very clean and modern city. Everyone was pretty friendly everywhere I went.

So I will be adding quite a few photos from these place. Should make up for the lack of photos I have subemitted recently.

Stay tuned...

A beautiful Day...

Fri Dec 31, 2004, 5:40 PM
Welcome to the New Year!

Well it is 2005, here in Japan at least. So how was 2004?

It was up and down, and busy busy busy! Hopefully some things are left to be, but with fate not in our hands, they may come back.

My heart goes out to all the Tsunami victims, and I am still hopeing to hear from my freind who was holidaying in the region.

But despite thatk the weather today is sunny, and blue skies, not a common sight here in Tokyo most of the year, so to welcome 2005 I get to have...

...a beautiful day!

raaf.deviantart.com/ RAAF raaf.deviantart.com/

Photographs my father took while serving as a member of the RAAF (Royal Australian Airforce) between 1960 and 1997.

He mainly served in the C-130 Hercules transport Squadrons of the RAAF. During his years with the RAAF he visited such places as, Thailand, Malaysia, Antartica, Egypt, Cyprus, the USA and all around the pacific.

Cost the images here will be photos originally taken as slide film and scanned over the past year or two. The quality may not be the greatest on some (all thoguht I will do my best to improve them) but I think they will hold a high curiosity value for some of you out there.

I hope you enjoy them!
