I've made a new character for this new ttrpg system called Hardwired Island that my buddy invited me to try out with them. So far it's been lots of fun and very different than the D&D stuff I've been drawing for the last few years. Nice to have a little change of pace once in a while.
Makeshift's real name is Emery Jacobe (they/she) and they're an Operator - ie: someone who solves problems with drones. They're a robotics toymaker from North America, with a lot of student loans. They won the lottery and moved to the Grand Cross Space Station where they've blown through most of their winnings. They currently have a humble studio apartment full of anime trinkets and games and they work in a little mech-repair and thrift shop under a robo-cat café owned by a nice German person called Glockenspiel, and their mom.
Makeshift is a bit of goodie-goodie, forgetful, but generous and friendly. They like repurposing things and upcycling and they do a lot of impulsive thrift-shopping. They work with a Finnish tinkerer named Packet who got her arms blown off in the L4 space station disaster, so now she's got rocket-fists. Together they host a robotics club at the local high school and found an industrial android in the dump that was lost and presumed "dead" for about a decade. They fixed up the android, who goes by Ham, and now they work in the repair shop too where they specialize in jailbreaking tech.
Anywho, Makeshift is just a little cinnamon roll and I love them lots.
