- Alphonse Mucha
- Moulin Rouge!

Model: My friend Shanelle Currie. Her modeling page is here: [link] Seriously, take a look, it's worth regretting not doing so. Note this didn't exactly end up looking like her. But I think the eyes are nice :}

This is stunning! This girl is very beautiful. You are extremely talanted in shading and all the proportions are very right.

You're most definitely gifted - glad you're on my watch list. I wish I had a little slice of your imagination - I feel sometimes as though I just spend all my time painting from photographs.

Well that slice is rather thin to begin with D: But I'd certainly give you some any day! On average I always just tend to copy images I find particularly inspiring. I rarely have the time or patience to actually do large pieces like this without incentive :D

I occasionally have good ideas - I just have trouble getting them onto paper or canvas. ;)

This is stunning, K. When I was your age, I never did anything half this good. Your rendering is fabulous, and I love how you worked in the gold stars and the other nouveau elements. Terrific work all around- you should be proud of yourself!

You've been thinking about going to an art and design school, right? :)

To hear that is to boost my self confidence, what, exponentially?! Seriously, praise from someone with talent like you is indescribably appreciated. And I'm thrilled you noted the art nouveau theme : D

I hadn't really to be honest. But more and more people have been mentioning it, so I've taken on the effort of looking into it. So far its more universities that offer visual art programs, yet nothing stands out.. Any suggestions?!

No prob, K, it's a great piece!

It depends whether you want to go to school in-state or out-of-state, of course... where do you live?

I'm actually up north in Canada, just outside Ottawa (our capital :D). The pressure is on because application deadlines were this week D: Don't fret yourself and all that, I'll think of something..

I don't know anything about art schools in Canada, so I can't be much help there. Good luck with all that!

you are an amazing artist! I know a lot of people choose to draw anime, but to draw traditional works of human faces is so much more difficult. You nailed it. Good work.

You were quick! First of all, wow, thank you. I can definitely agree that realism can be frustrating business sometimes, especially if you happen to be a perfectionist. Encouragement from great individuals like yourself always give me the drive to keep working : D
