The Wood Between the Worlds by Kecky The Wood Between the Worlds by Kecky
The Magician's Nephew is definitely my favorite Narnia book, and definitely high up on the list of my favorite books ever. Here is my sorry attempt at a tribute.

Okay, so maybe I actually like how this turned out quite a lot. It still doesn't live up to the book.

This is wonderful and i agree with you on it being a great book. Sad that most people only really know about 'The lion, the witch, and the wardrobe.'

But this is exactly the way i would have imagined that part in the book.

I don't see why you don't like it, everything from the colors to the positioning is wonderful, and I think it represents the book perfectly.

I just feel like it's awfully drab and dark for a forest that's supposed to be full of warm light. But I like it as a whole. :XD:

It is very difficult to truly recreate all of the feelings one has of the scenes in C.S. Lewis' books, because they are more than words can really convey, but this piece is lovely and conveys the Wood exceptionally well.

Congratulations on the DD.

I love how they're holding hands . . . and the faint sketchyness really is a nice touch. Although C.S. Lewis, as a writer, irritates the crap out of me, it was a pretty cute book, and this really complements it. Nice!

Absolutely gorgeous. The style is so very fitting of the period and it portrays so much of what is going on in the book. I saw at least one comment to which you replied that you were making others, and I am very excited. I love these books dearly and this one most certainly is my favorite as well. I'll be watching for more!

On the note of Narnia, are you interested in the new Prince Caspian movie? I've only seen a single trailer for it so far.

It's my favorite as well! Even though the lion, the witch and the wardrobe is considered the most popular, the magicians nephew to me, was a more interesting read. But hey, isn't the whole series great? :icongrinclub: The picture DOES do it justice! the coloring fits perfectly :D Just as I imagined it :)

My comment didn't go through, screw the internet. This one won't be as long and poetic as the last one, sadly. =( That said, though this is a really awesome fav worthy piece of fanart, you're right, it doesn't live up to the books. The books are awesome in their very own way. But your style of art looks a lot like the illustrations and would fit right in. It's funny, this book was my least favorite when I first read the series but now there's something creepily way cool about them... you may have just solved a problem for me! I know what books to take on my trip now! Lol.

That said, this is awesome. I can't really critique it. The trees could've been a little less saturated (I always imagined the place as being very gray and creepy), the poses are a little stiff--but that's the style. I really have little to say. This is amazing, worthy of the DD... and it makes me very happy to see book-based fanart!

Have you done any other Narnia stuff? I would like to see if you have. ^^

Squee! ^_^ It seems that no one ever remembers anything more of The Chronicles of Narnia than The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.

So it just made my day when I saw this and knew instantly where it came from. The Magician's Nephew is my favorite book out of the Chronicles...
