I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK
I sleep all night and I work all day

......(He's a lumberjack and he's OK
......He sleeps all night and he works all day)

I cut down trees, I eat my lunch
I go to the lavat'ry
On Wednesdays I go shopping
And have buttered scones for tea

......(He cuts down trees...)
......(He's a lumberjack...)

I cut down trees, I skip and jump
I love to press wild flow'rs
I put on women's clothing
And hang around in bars

......(He cuts down trees...)
......(He's a lumberjack...)

I cut down trees, I wear high heels
Suspenders and a bra
I wish I'd been a girlie
Just like my dear papar

......(He cuts down trees...)
......(He's a lumberjack...)

:reading:

I live one valley east of the Bay-Area .. so the wind that blows across the pacific, hits the range of hills between me and the bay, piles up, and funnels through the freeway pass in a more concentrated form .. so it's always been windy here.

In my youth, this annoyed me more than benefited me .. in my old age, it's nice, on a HOT SUMMER DAY, to have the heat be made my bitch, instead of teh utter way 'round

The civic center occasionally has music events during the summer and last year, Ledward Kaapana (Master of the Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar) was playing, and my mother, being into that, wanted to go, Katie and I played escort.

It was a typical summer evening (outdoors) .. cooler than it could be if the wind wasn't blowing, (it was maybe 68 or so, I don't know), and Ledward and Co. complained several times about how 'cold' it was, and how could we 'stand it' living here, they were shivering, and put on coats .. we were all wearing t-shirts\shorts, etc .. some of us better than others

Mom has mentioned several times that, while living in Hawaii, she would put sweaters on us when the temp fell to\below .. 70

That man can play guitar. :omg:

Everything is relative. After a seriously cold stretch of Minnesota winter, with wind chill temps of maybe -30° or -40° or even lower, when the temps finally climb up back up into double digits and it hits say, 15°, everyone rejoices in the 'warm' weather and throws off their coats. When you think about it, though, the temperature difference is like 50°, which is actually a lot. When it gets up into the 30s, we feel like it's a heat wave.

In addition to the freakin' cold winters, we have hot, humid, nasty, ugly summers that can get over 100°, so during an extreme year, we can have temperature variances of over 125°. I hate the heat and the extremes. It SUCKS.

Allow me to reiterate: it SUCKS.

That word was SUCKS, btw, in case you missed it.

SUCKS S-U-C-K-S SUCKS

... in my old age ...

Old age? OLD?!? You think you're old?!? :O

What SUCKS, is the fact that, when you type you've developed the sloppy habit of hitting the "-" key when going for the number keys .. for example up there where you say -30° or -40° ... see? ... those "-" strokes are a distraction to the actual numbers of 30 + 40

the other numbers in the message, 15, 50, 30, 125 .. don't have this aberration artifact

if you type LARGER than you need, you can resize down and these 'stickies' will vanish

try it!

Maybe you could send me a utility program to help resize my typing .. and also nip 'stickies' in the bud.

I know it's hard for a warm-blooded Cali boi like you to comprehend those chilly temperatures, but you say that you were 'born of the snow' and also lived in Colorado for a while so c'mon, dredge up those old genetic memories and mentally feel your way back to the cold. Let me help you remember: wind chills of thirty or forty degrees below zero Fahrenheit. Temperatures sometimes of twenty-five or thirty degrees below zero. That's almost 100 degrees colder than it was here today.

C'mon, big guy, if a girl can take it, you can take it!

Even though it SUCKS!!!!!

.. but .. I'm a replicant, and my memories were implanted .. I carry a small stack of Polaroids around with me

I know, for a fact, that I've experienced -15° below .. it was during the Mr Nude Universe contest, and I didn't do well .. and other temps were experienced without measurement facilities at hand

I used to work with a guy from Minnesota, he told me all about the winters .. he had sloppy speech habits, like Tourette's syndrome, he kept saying negative in front of numbers ... psssh, really annoying

:bulletgreen:... if you happen to like .. "Killing Me Softly" -and- Ukuleles ... (this was in the sideways scroll in the other link, but I couldn't link directly)

Ledward Kaapana played the song beautifully. Who would've thought anyone could have made Killing Me Softly sound like classical guitar? On a ukulele?

... he kept saying negative in front of numbers ... psssh, really annoying

Ya big baby.

I've experienced -15° below .. it was during the Mr Nude Universe contest

:sherlock:

... I'm a replicant ...

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Snow plows freezing on the shoulder of Interstate 94 East. I watched snowflakes glitter in the dark near Loring Park. All those moments ... frozen ... in ice...
