Great work on the tonal values.  I've had a similar idea using fire wood log of varied diameter.

That sounds like a really cool idea.  I usually have the luxury of creating any color I want when I cast the parts, using natural objects would give a piece an entirely new dimension.

Absolutely amazing work!  The size and the details just blow me away!  And the shading is spectacular.  Also, the idea of making a skull from flowers is inspiring.  Keep up the inspiring work!  :la: :wow:

I spent several months on What Remains.  It is by far my favorite piece.  Pieces of this size usually take between 2 and 3 months between conception of the design and having a ready to hang piece.  I can do them quicker, but it gets logistically nightmarish.

Wow that's crazy! You must have incredible patience and dexterity to do something so complex and beautiful with so many very small pieces.

Some would say obsessive, but I like to call it passion. They are a lot of fun to design and make.

This is incredible! How long would you estimate this took you to do? Did you cast the flowers yourself?

Thanks for the kind words. I did cast all the flowers myself and sculpted the originals for all of the molds I made to cast them in. They are cast in color, I don't paint anything. The large mosaics can take up to several months to create, but can be produced quicker depending on the molding process.
