So! It's been a week. What's happened?
(Feel free to skip to the end for the TL;DR)
I drove out about an hour (I live in the middle of nowhere) and dropped my laptop at a reputable computer repair shop to get fixed. At first their conclusion was for me to buy a new laptop, but after some time they said they could repair it for only $200, much cheaper than the $600+ a new laptop would cost. I still lost all my files, however. But that can be worked around.
Monday, on the way to school, I got a flat tire (strange enough, this is the third flat tire I've gotten while driving my car and they have all happened on the same road). Anyways, I had to buy two new tires as the one was destroyed and the one across from it was badly damaged from being old and an issue I used to have with my car. That cost $130 and I had to pull out of the savings I had built up for the next time my boyfriend visited. My mom, as sweet as she is, offered to help me out when he came over, so no big deal. Plus it's still about 3 months away, so I can still save up a bit more money until then.
Well, today I went to pick up my laptop, taking the long trip once again. I was very excited to pick my laptop up finally and distracted by the long ride, resulting in me leaving my keys in my car for the first time. I'll skip the details afterwards and just say that it cost me $85 to unlock my car. Thankfully, a good dergan of mine commissioned me recently, which helped with the costs somewhat, but it was still rather upsetting to lose another large sum of money.
Anyways, my mom is still gonna help me out when the time comes, and my part time job still pays enough for me to get by, but I'm kind of not doing my best. Losing all my files and finances in the span of a week has got me a bit down in the dumps. So. While I'll be okay, I do want to say that I still may take some time to get back on the metaphorical art horse and get back to work.
TL;DR: I've lost a lot of money in the last week as well as all of the files on my computer. This has put me in a bit of a funk, but with time I'll be back to making art again!
