Kitsune White Fox Ornament

This Japanese-inspired white kitsune (fox) ornament is made of wood and painted with acrylic.

While "kitsune" means fox, when people say it in English, they usually mean the magic foxes of folklore with 1-9 tails and the power to change shape or create illusion. White foxes are the messengers of the Shinto deity Inari and are sometimes depicted with a "wish fulfilling jewel" on their tails.

It's for sale at my Etsy shop here:

Okay, just updated the description. This site is knee-deep in magic foxes, so I didn't think to include one! ;)

Sometimes Japanese foxes are depicted with a tear-drop shaped thing called the wish-fulfilling jewel on their tails. Sometimes they are just holding it, like the guardian kitsune at Inari shrines.
