When Cassie finally woke, she found herself in a bed in some kind of building and her injury bandaged up.
She looked around, confused as to where she was at and what was going on, and had tried to sit up before the wound in her chest tugged and she hissed in pain. She let out a pathetic sounding whimper before sinking back into the bed.
“Now, now, dearie, don't fuss. The magic isn't working yet; the wounds haven't closed yet.” an old Elf woman said as she came over to reassure Cassie.
Cassie looked up at her. “Who-who are you?” she asked weakly
“I am the village healer. Three strapping young fellows and a charming young lady brought you to me in poor shape. They're doing a bit of farm work on a nearby farm to earn some marks. Rest. You need it.”
Cassie nodded, feeling weak, tired and in pain from the angry slash across her chest. She stared up at the ceiling for a while but slowly but agonizingly, memor

After a week of travel, they had passed through several villages but had stopped in the village they came across this time to resupply and rest in an inn. Getting to actually use beds for once.
“Heeeeey, a lil luxuryyyy!” Cassie grinned wide, “And I think it’s cool to see all these different villages. I wonder what kinds live here.”
“I don't know. But we are goin to the pub. You wanna come with us?” Rex asked
“Uhhhhh sure. Of course!” Cassie said, “In the mood for some ale or somethin’?”
“Ale and good food.” Kaine grinned.
Cassie looked at him surprised. “Wait...you drink ale too?” she asked, “Umm...you aren’t twenty-one yet, dude.”
“What's that gotta do with goin to a pub?” Kaine and Ash asked together, both clearly confused.
“We're men.” Ash said crossing his arms over his chest.

A week after the two Dragon Riders came to visit, the three young teens were supposed to leave the farm but Kaine and Ash delayed them for two days because of their fear and nervousness. The family had packed Kaine, Ash and Cassie’s things they were taking to the Weyr into a horse cart in the barn.
They were going to try to leave again in the morning. Third time's the charm.
“What do you think, guys? You think you’ll feel okay with traveling to the Weyr tomorrow? Beginning a new chapter in the book of your lives?” Cassie asked Kaine and Ash as they sat together in the loft of the barn, looking out the window that gazed upon a good part of the farm.
The twins shrugged
“I guess.” Ash said
Cassie sighed a bit. Admittedly, she was a bit impatient to leave, eager for this new adventure herself, but she knew that her feelings on the matter were not important, and that she needed to continue being supportive.

Many weeks passed by. In that time, Cassie had gotten accustomed to life on a farm and life with a large family of Elves, whom she found fascinating and not horribly different from humans. She found the triplets particularly amusing, and would often laugh at their goofy and mischievous antics. Bree became her favorite sister, and listening to her talk about herself was like hearing Kaysha or Charmaine chat about something important to them. Of course, though, Cassie spent most of her time with Kaine and Ash. She felt close to them, and liked them both quite a bit, in a ‘more than friends’ kind of way, but she was careful with her heart as she didn’t want to get her hopes up. Nevertheless, she considered the twins very good friends, and they made her feel happy.
She rode on horseback at least three times a week- becoming rather advanced at it in a short amount of time- and also did silly things like catching frogs and pla

Some time later, Cassie had gotten completely cleaned up and the scratches on her cheeks cared for. But she was pouting up a major storm. Because she was wearing the one thing that she fought to avoid for her entire life. A dress.
“It's the only thing we could give you at this time. You need to blend in, my dear.” Mrs. Stronghammer told Cassie.
Cassie continued to frown. “I don’t have a problem with blending in, Mrs. Stronghammer, but… are you sure that there aren’t like, any old clothes that were Kaine or Ash’s? I hate dresses. I’ve avoided them my whole life for a reason! I look awful” she pouted
“Nonsense. And if you were to dress like a boy, you’d only call more attention to yourself.” Mrs. Stronghammer stated.
Cassie sighed in defeat. “Yes, Mrs. Stronghammer” she murmured. She was not happy about it but she also didn’

A week passed by. Cassie hadn't felt ready to trek back onto the trail so she was content to stay in her spot near the stream. She ate four fish every day, and nothing else. She found that the fish filled her up quite nicely, and she also found satiation in drinking fresh stream water as well. Cassie did not allow herself to wander too far away from her campsite, and she spent her days climbing in the trees, sketching, daydreaming, and imitating Link’s swordplay moves using her spear. Some days, she felt adventurous and the days flew by for her, but other days, she was bored out of her mind, almost to the point of losing her sanity. Turning on her electronics were absolute last resorts, and without cellular coverage, her online app games on her phone didn’t work, which frustrated her. She got desperate to the point of turning her 3DS on and playing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. After defeating the Water Temple Boss-

A large brown bear glared down at her angrily, not liking that an intruder came into her cave and within close proximity of her cubs. She got up on her hind legs and let out a deafening roar, looking as if she was about to attack.
‘Ohhhhhhhhh CRAP’ Cassie thought to herself in terror. For a moment, she felt frozen, but instinct kicked in, and she knew she had to run. She screamed out in fright before spinning on her heels and sprinting out of the cave as fast as she could.
The bear dropped down on all four legs and quickly followed after her. Cassie could hear the bear crushing leaves and sticks as she ran, and could even feel the vibrations from the heavy animal.
“Please don’t get me please don’t get me please don’t get me!” Cassie cried out frantically as she tried to pick up her pace even more. There was nothing more that she wanted in that moment than to escape the bear’s presence

The next morning, when it was actually morning, Cassie woke up, but instead of feeling well-rested, she felt groggy and tired, the remainder of her sleep feeling more like a nap. When she realized this, her face tightened into a scowl and she growled.
“Why couldn’t I have felt like this when I first woke up, so that it would be easier to fall back asleep?” she complained, “This is a sucky way to start a day! Groggy and grumpy.”
She huffed in frustration and sat up in the tree again, sitting there for several minutes.
“Dang it!” she groaned, “I don’t even feel like moving today! I wanna be back in my bed and popping in a video game to play! Not here! But if I sit here all day, then I’m gonna lose time and opportunity to get back home. Grrrrrrr. Fine. I’ll get up. But I don’t like it!”

Cassie had been walking for hours to no avail. She turned off her phone when it became clear that she wasn’t going to get coverage here. She also wanted to save battery life, especially since her charger was back at home. She grabbed her water bottle to drink some water on occasion but didn’t touch any of the snacks that were in her backpack. Seeing as how she had no idea how long she would end up being here, she didn’t want to eat anything until her stomach was screaming at her. There were a lot of things she needed to figure out…
“Okay… I’m stranded in a forest with no cell coverage and I have no idea where I am or how long it will take before I find someone to help me… What would Link do?” Cassie wondered out loud. “Think, Cassie… Where do I start?” After pondering the question for a few minutes, her first thought was to seek shelter.

Cassie McPeek was on her skateboard, riding towards the local skate park in San Diego where she loved to shred it up. She was wearing her typical outfit, which consisted of a simple red t-shirt, denim blue skinny jeans rolled up as capris, and green Converse. She had her Hyrule Shield backpack on, her helmet was green with a gold Triforce painted on either side, her elbow and knee pads green as well, and her skateboard had a Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time- her top favorite game- poster design, featuring child and adult Link, child and adult Zelda, Impa, Sheik, Ganondorf, some of the game’s enemies, Hyrule Castle and Ganon’s Castle. Just another day of summer break for the geeky, sassy tomboyish girl.
‘Ahhhhhhh’ she breathed deeply to herself as she took in the cool ocean breeze, ‘I think today might be a good day. I really need this.’ She was only a quarter mile away from the skate park when all of a

A week and a half passed by. I was enjoying my summer vacation and Cassie and Charmaine were thrilled to now be on summer vacation as well. It was gonna ROCK!
It was a Saturday and I was at the Ice Crew crib for a video games tournament. Cassie was going to go skateboarding and Charmaine had left for a beach camping trip with her three girl friends from school. The boys and I were gonna order pizza later on and just hang around like a bunch of bachelors and a bachelorette!
"This is gonna be off the HOOK!"Cobra said happily, "Laz-ay day ALL day!"
I laughed. "Sounds like a great off day to me! What are we gonna play first?"
"Yo, how 'bout some Call of Duty?" Ice suggested, "I need it today" he sighed
I looked at him with concern. "Why? What's the matter, Ice?" I asked
"Yeah, man. Somethin's buggin' you. What is it?" DJ asked, also feeling concerned. It was unusual for Ice to be acting like this.

We were back at the house for my graduation party. I wanted to keep it small- just my family and closest friends, although Mitchie and Jerome had their own parties. It was going awesome! I got a ton of great gifts and cards and was shy to open them in front of everyone. I'm shy of this kind of attention but hey, if I could get through a speech, I could get through that.
While my dad was grilling on the deck, with Hak Foo, Larry and Tohru assisting him, a bunch of us were about to play volleyball on the beach. The weather was absolutely perfect out. It's gonna be a goooooood night!
We were randomly assigned to teams and DJ and I were assigned to opposite teams!
"You might be the star of the day, pretty girl, but that doesn't mean I won't be competitive" DJ smirked.
I laughed. "Neither will I! This girl be on FIRE today! Ya'll are goin' DOWN!" she teased.

Several days later, Rex and Bree, with the help of their cousins, had gotten a home down in the city below. It was made in a large tree and it had a shop underneath the home part and an enclosure and shelter behind it for the horses they had brought with them. Bree had a few dresses that she’d made on the journey to the city to sell in her shop but not much else.

Rex had asked (more like begged) the Black Knight to be his mentor and was now the Black Knight’s second apprentice.

The four Stronghammer siblings and Cassie were hanging out down in the dress shop, which at this time looked quite barren and dull.

“It's a start…” Rex sighed.

Cassie looked around with them but was silent. She was thinking hard about how she could help them. She wanted to, so badly! But how? What could she do? After more thought, an idea popped into her mind. But she didn’t wanna share it until it actually worked.

“You’ll get what you need” Cassie encouraged Rex and Bree, “I know you will”

“Thanks, Cassie.” Bree said.

“I’m gonna go out for a walk” Cassie told them, “Don’t worry. Not far.”

“Stay safe.” Rex told her.

“I will” Cassie reassured him, “I promise”

Cassie left the tree house and started to wander along the streets of the Bazaar. She found herself admiring the variety of goods- jewelry, swords, clothing, bags, foods like bubbling pies- which smelled incredible- and a bunch of others that she categorized as miscellaneous.

‘Hey! I could make art!’ Cassie thought to herself, ‘But...I’m not sure if they sell paint stuff here...how could I make it? Sketchbook drawings aren’t gonna work…’

Off the streets of the Bazaar were a bunch of stones lying around. Cassie bent down to look at them and some sort of instinct flipped on in her mind. She touched the stone and the runes on her wrist glowed as magic started to flow out. The spot she was touching turned blue, looking like some sort of paint!

Cassie gasped and out of curiosity, ran her finger around the stone, making a swirling pattern. She could paint with magic!

‘Wooooooow!! I can paint with magic! Freakin’ awesome!’ Cassie thought excitedly to herself. ‘I can make little pocket animals and stuff with these stones and try to sell them!’

Cassie sat down on the ground and picked up another stone. She imagined Bree’s pet kit and started to draw on the stone with her finger. She was a fast artist, so in ten minutes time, both sides of the stone were painted in detail, the kit looking very realistic. She grinned wide and beamed at her work. The colors and details all came together effortlessly thanks to her innate magic!

For the next couple hours, she made several more stone pocket animals of small woodland creatures and gathered them in her arms, finding an empty spot right off the main street in the Bazaar and sitting down to sell them. She organized and displayed all of them right in front of her and waited for a customer to come, hoping she could sell all of them and make some decent money for Rex and Bree.

Elves, fairies and other types of Fae and local children stopped and bought Cassie's little stones. The children especially loved them.

Cassie was beaming with pride and felt a great sense of accomplishment. She loved children so seeing the joy and excitement on their faces as they admired her work made her so happy. She used both hands to carry all the marks she made but before returning to Rex and Bree’s new home, picked up one more stone and made one more pocket animal.

“I have a preseeeeentttt!~” Cassie sang happily as she finally returned to the Stronghammer tree house.

The four looked over at Cassie.

“You've been gone for hours. Are you alright?” Bree asked.

“I’m more than alright! I’m in a great mood!” Cassie smiled big as she came closer. “Here. These are for you” she told her and Rex as she held out her hands and presented them with her marks.

They gawked at the marks.

“Cassie how…. How did you get these?” Rex asked

“Well” Cassie said as she set them down on a shelf that stuck out from the wall and picked up the stone, “I know you told me to not worry about you and Bree, but I really wanted to do something to help you guys get settled... I love to do art, and it was the only skill I could think of where I could earn marks, and... I discovered that I have an innate ability to create art magically, so... I created these” she held her hand out to show them the painting of the cute looking kit on the stone on both sides “I came up with this idea to make little creatures on these stones that you can carry around for fun, like lil adorable trinkets. I spent a couple hours making a bunch and then went to the Bazaar to try to sell them. I sold them all, and the children loved them” she grinned with pride.

“That is so sweet of you, Cassie.” Bree said.

“Hey, what’s family for, huh?” Cassie smiled, “Until you guys have what you need, I’ll keep making and selling these if I can.”

“Thank you, Cassie.” Rex said.

“You’re welcome, Rex” Cassie smiled more

“These marks will help Bree get her clothing shop up and running. We're pretty close to the main hub of the city. A lot of people come by here.” Rex said.

“We’ll be self sufficient in no time.” Bree gave a small smile.

“That’ll be good!” Cassie replied, “Seriously, anything I can do to help you guys, I’ll do it. Hopefully you’ll be happy living here, though. That’s the most important thing.”

“Yeah.” Rex gave a nod.

“So Bree is gonna be a Dressmaker and Rex is gonna be a Knight. We’re gonna be Dragon Riders.” Kaine said.

“At least we got away from the farm.” Ash said.

“Becoming Dragon Riders will be such a high honor, and will lead you to adventures beyond your wildest dreams, I bet” Cassie smiled

“Yeah.” Kaine and Ash nodded.

Cassie was completely blown away. Her sapphire blue eyes twinkled like stars in a night sky and she looked around speechlessly. The city was truly magical looking, and Cassie was especially taken by the buildings made of trees.

“Wooooooowwww…” she finally breathed, “This place is so beautiful…” It was love at first sight for her! For a moment, an image of another city made of massive trees with elegant bridges and staircases winding along the trees flashed in her mind, but only a passing thought.
The five gawked for a while before finding a trustworthy stable to entrust their horses and belongings to.

Outside in the arena, by the barn, a large man in black armor was drilling another man in full armor, helmet and everything, on the techniques of jousting. And the black knight was quite tough on his student.

“Whoaaaaaaaa!!!” Cassie exclaimed, “They have jousting here! That’s freakin’ awesomeeee!” She had been to Renaissance Festivals many times before and had seen jousting there, which she thought was really cool. But having it here in this magical city with the Weyr was even cooler!

The silver knight seemed to get distracted at Cassie’s exclamation and the black knight barked something at him in what Cassie thought was Spanish, snapping the silver knight back into his training mentality.

“The knight in black seems like a toughie” Cassie observed out loud as she watched them, studying their demeanor. “If I had to take a guess, he’s the silver knight’s teacher. Kinda weird to hear a language other than Elvish around here, though.”

“That's Sir Desmund the Black Knight of Fellguard Weyr.” a nearby Elf said. “He’s a Dragon Rider and he trains the best knights. Not many can handle the intensity, though. Though there's a rumor that the last knight he trained from a far off land returned home and became a hero of legends!”

“Wow!” Cassie exclaimed, completely impressed, “That’s really cool! Sir Desmund the Black Knight... I’m so coming to watch a joust here sometime”

A girl Elf giggled. “He’s currently training his younger brother. They're both a dreeeam” she sighed.

Cassie chuckled. “Well that sounds even more exciting then! Avalon, the land of attractive boys.” she teased

Rex chuckled and patted Cassie’s shoulder. “Come on. We have to get up to the Weyr. I think we’re distracting the student and making the master agitated.”

“Whoops, my bad” Cassie said apologetically. “Let’s go check out the Weeeeeeyrrrrr!”

As the group left, the silver knight looked over to where he had heard a familiar voice but couldn't spot anyone he knew. The knight in training shook it off and continued his practice.

The five approached the base of the mountain and started walking up the long, winding trail towards the Weyr.

“This is all so super cool!” Cassie said excitedly, finding fascination at nearly every corner, “The city of trees is a freakin’ dream. The magic around here couldn’t be any clearer!”

“It is amazing. I’ve only heard stories about places like this!” Bree exclaimed.

“Me too!” Cassie replied, “Everything I’ve seen I thought only existed in fantasy, and there was a time I thought magic wasn’t actually real as well! I’m glad I was wrong” she chuckled

They climbed the mountain path higher and higher and watched as a huge black dragon with red under his wings take off from the Weyr and head down to the city below.

“Whoaaaaaaaa” Cassie breathed with awe and admiration as she watched him fly. The Dragons she had seen so far-Kyrah’s and Sarina’s- were small when she saw them so seeing a dragon in its normal size was nothing short of magnificent. “He’s amazing!”

Rex gawked as well “That was a Nightwind! They're one of the largest breeds of Dragons!”

“Niiiiiiiiiceeeee!” Cassie exclaimed, “So there’s different types of Dragons?”

“Yeah. Many different breeds. Though we think that most of them are now extinct.” Kaine said.

“Such a bummer” Cassie said sadly, “But you never know. We might end up seeing a variety.”

“Maybe.” Ash said.

When they arrived at the top of the mountain path, Cassie grinned wide when she saw a crater with several holes that she knew were called hollows.

“The Weyr... where dragon riders and their dragons live… ooooohhhhh this is sweeeeeeeeet!” Cassie raved

The four Stronghammer siblings were gawking as they walked through the Weyr.

“So many hollows…. All but a precious few empty…” Bree said.

“At least for now though, right?” Cassie stated optimistically, “With the coming of new Dragons and, as a result, new Riders, this place should be booming in no time!”

“That's the hope.” Rex said. “I've heard that there's only seven mated pairs of mature Dragons in existence.”

“So little, but... Ash told me why... and I’m sorry” Cassie said as her mood turned glum, “I know I didn’t do nothin’, but still…”

“You're going to be a Dragon Rider. You don't have to apologize because you're going to be part of the solution.” Kaine said.

Cassie smiled a bit, feeling better and knowing that Kaine made a great point.

“Yeah... that’s true... dang right I’ll be a part of the solution, however I can help and show people how awesome Dragons are” she replied

“It's a new era. Anything is possible.” Ash said.

“Yeah, that’s true. I bet we’re gonna have some really epic Dragons” Cassie’s smile grew as her excitement started to return

“Definitely.”  Ash and Kaine said.

“So what do we do now?” Cassie asked, “Do we need to find Kyrah and Sarina and let them know we’re here?”

“That's where we’re going.” Rex gave a nod before pointing to a hollow with a dark haired teen in the entrance. They couldn't see what was in his hands at the moment because they were too far away.

As they got closer, Cassie decided to be polite and greet the boy first.

“Hi there” she said to him

He was playing on a 3Ds “Aaagh! Charizard no!” he cried before looking up from his game. “Oh. Hey there, yo! Sup?” he said with a smile.

Cassie was startled and stepped back a couple steps. She was shocked to see an elf boy in a Weyr on Avalon playing Pokémon on a 3DS and talking in slang! This was a totally unexpected reaction! But after her initial shock faded, she grinned wide.

“Dude! You’ve been to Earth?!” she asked

“My uncles are from earth, yo! They human. My uncle Mike is da bomb, girlfriend! Taught me how to board when I was four.” the boy replied.

“You know how to skateboard?!” Cassie asked excitedly, “Dude! That’s awesome! I may not look it but I’m from Earth myself. And boarding and video games are my passions!”

“That is sick! We should shred it up sometime. I know this place we can go to skate. You surf too?” he asked.

“Yeah! My sisters and I live in San Diego right next to the ocean. It’s fun! But my sister Charmaine is crazy obsessed with the water!” she laughed, “Like, she’s pretty much a mermaid with no tail!”

He laughed. “Mermaid with no tail? That would be a siren or a Nixie. Nixies are fresh water only, though. I'm Meric.” the boy offered her his hand.

“Cassie” Cassie introduced as she took his hand and shook it, “Nice to meet ya. I think we’re gonna get along real good, dude” she grinned

“Same here, girlfriend! Oh. Y’all lookin for Mmom?” He asked

“Kyrah’s your mom?” Cassie asked in surprise. She didn’t realize Kyrah had kids!

“Yeah, she's inside. She got a letter from my great aunt this morning by magic. She's expecting ya.” Meric said

“Alright” Cassie nodded but then something hit her before turning to the Stronghammers. “Great aunt! Guys! I think he means Mumma! A letter from back home!”

The Stronghammer siblings looked at each other excitedly.

“Go on inside yo. It's aight.” Meric said.

“Thanks, man. Maybe we can chat again later” Cassie smiled, “Come on, guys! Let’s go!” she beckoned the others

They all went into the hollow to meet Kyrah.

The woman was sitting in a chair reading something when they found her. The hollow was odd and had jars and containers of many different kinds on the wall.

“Hello, Ms. Kyrah!” Cassie called out to her

Kyrah looked up from the letter. “Oh good. You're here and well. And Rex and Bree. Your mother and father sent you all a letter.” Kyrah said handing an unopened to them.

“I hope they have some good news” Cassie told the older siblings

Cassie felt touched by the letter and was relieved to hear that the rest of the Stronghammer family was okay, but she felt sadness tug at her because of Rex and Bree. They couldn’t go back home! It was now official that they had to start brand new lives in a place so far away from the little farm. She looked over to them to see what their reactions were.

Rex and Bree looked solemn.

“What do we do now, Rex?” Bree asked.

“I don't know… we’re not even chosen to be Dragon Riders…” Rex replied

Cassie gave each of them a hug.

“I’m so sorry, you guys” she said sympathetically, feeling even more sad for them

Rex and Bree hugged her back.

“We’ll figure this out.” Rex sighed, “Don't worry about us.”

Cassie nodded but in the back of her mind, she was already trying to figure out what she could do to help them. How could she help them earn marks to kickstart their new life?! She had never had a job before, although she once earned a good amount of money for creating walkthroughs for all the Legend of Zelda games and posting them on a website that she created by herself. But clearly she couldn’t do something like that here on Avalon! What could she do to help them?

“So...Ms. Kyrah” Cassie addressed Kyrah, changing topics and shaking her troubles off for the moment, “What are me, Kaine and Ash supposed to do until the Dragon hatching?” she asked

“You will live here at the Weyr.” Kyrah said.

“In the hollows... awesome” Cassie grinned, her spirits perking up, “This whole city is just amazing! And your son Meric is super cool!”

Kyrah chuckled “He idolizes his uncle Mike. His twin sister Merida is around the city somewhere.” she said.

“I’ll have to make sure I say hi sometime!” Cassie smiled, “It’s nice to meet someone who’s so familiar with Earth culture! A comfort from home, yanno?”

“It's understandable.” Kyrah said with a nod.

“I don’t know if you noticed, though, but… This kinda happened to me on our way here” Cassie stated as she pulled back her hair to reveal her long elf ears, and then showed her the runes on her wrist, “Do you think you have an idea of why?”

“This world naturally alters the physical appearance of humans who are… more or less magically inclined or have been warped and altered physically by magic. It's unclear fully why. Something must have sped up the process with you. And the runes on your wrist translate to ‘Cassandra’” Kyrah said.

“Wow…” Cassie replied, trying to comprehend what she said, “So I have magic inside of me? I mean I know I’ve always loved elves but I never would have expected to be one! I really am not related to my family anymore... My sisters have black hair and brown eyes, in case you were wondering. They used to joke that I was adopted but... maybe I really am misplaced…” That statement made her feel a bit glum

“Nonsense. You're not truly an Elf, though you appear as one. You are still human and very much belong in your family. Though it is not uncommon for some human families to have Elvish or Fae ancestors. And such magical traits are known to skip multiple generations.” Kyrah said.

“Wow… Elvish ancestors… I mean we are related to Lo Pei, this ancient Chinese guy who banished a demon called Shendu so I guess that wouldn’t be too out of the ordinary… And I guess I haven’t lost my identity, then… I don’t know much about actually being an Elf” Cassie chuckled a bit

“I am well aware of who Lo Pei is. My siblings and I were raised by Shendu.” Kyrah said, brushing something off her knee. “Doesn't matter now. We protect humanity and those of light magic.”

“Wow” Cassie replied, surprised to hear that, though she didn’t know much about Shendu personally. That was more in her sister Kaysha’s department. She wondered for a moment who exactly Kyrah was and what her family history was like… “Well that’s good, though.” she decided to say, “I felt guilty for my race when I heard about how they slayed most of the Dragons a long time ago but Kaine told me earlier that I’ll become a part of the solution, and I could only hope that humans would be a lot more accepting nowadays anyways. You should probably know how well fantasy does on Earth. Lil nerd over here as an example” she chuckled as she raised her hand

Kyrah chuckled and smiled. “I have one final thing to tell you. There aren't many Dragon eggs at this time. There are more candidates than eggs. You may not get a Dragon the first or even the second time around. But. Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.”

Cassie nodded in understanding, though it made her start to worry. What if...what if she didn’t get chosen? She shook the thought off quickly, though.

‘Don’t think like that’ she chided herself, ‘It’s just an extra opportunity. Dragons know what they’re looking for. Be confident; I know you have what it takes.’

“Understood, Ms. Kyrah” Cassie said out loud

“So they may not even get chosen?”  Rex asked.

“Not right away. There just aren't enough Dragons.” Kyrah said.

“Then we’ll just have to to prepare for the worst and hope for the best” Cassie replied, though a small part of her had the lingering fear of not getting chosen. Rejection was difficult for her…

“You must have had a long hard journey here. Find a hollow to rest in for the night. We’ll discuss things further tomorrow.” Kyrah said.

“Alright” Cassie nodded, “Come on, guys. At least we’ll all have a roof over our heads tonight.”

“Yeah.” The twins nodded.

“Thanks for everything, Ms. Kyrah. See you tomorrow” Cassie told Kyrah

“Rest well.” Kyrah told them.

“We will” Cassie replied before she and the Stronghammer siblings left her hollow

“I hope you guys at least get chosen” Cassie told Ash and Kaine, “I’d hate for you to come all this way, even though...you had to…, and not get chosen.”

“It'll be alright, Cassie.” the twins said together.

“I hope so” Cassie replied, “But no sense in worrying about it now. Let’s rest up and enjoy ourselves tomorrow.”

Hey everyone!

I removed my fanfiction The Glory of Love from Deviantart but it still exists in the Internet-verse! I redid parts of the story and added new content, helping set the stage for some sequel stories that I plan on doing with :iconbikermicechick: after we finish book one of JCA: Magic Exposure! ^^ The Glory of Love (which, to those of you who don't know, is a Kaysha x DJ Fist story) can now be found on Wattpad under my username SireneSanra! Check it out! I might repost it here on DA someday. We'll see! ^^;

Happy weekend! ^3^
