The Really Useful Crew

Yes, I did indeed vector choo choo ponies.  For those who might not be able to tell, these are ponified versions of the core eight engines from the series "Thomas & Friends."  Going from left to right, we have Toby, Edward, James, Thomas, Percy, Henry, Emily, and Gordon.

I've had these guys (and gal) bouncing around my head for a while, and I finally got them vectored.  Emily doesn't have a number, so I gave her a steam cloud for her cutie mark.  Since they're the oldest trains in the series, I had to get creative with Toby and Edward.  I wanted them to look older than the other six but not so old that they couldn't still work as hard.  We really need some more old, but not Granny Smith old, ponies in the series.

This is the largest group of stallions that I've ever vectored up to now.

I've got a couple of people to credit for this:
1) Thomas - Soarin' vector by :iconchainchomp2:
2) Emily - Twilight vector by :iconsakatagintoki117:
3) Gordon - Shining Armor vector by :iconhawk9mm:

Cool! What's that Emily's got as a cutie mark? A steam cloud?
kaylathehedgehog's avatar
Yep.  She didn't have a number like the others, so I had to improvise.

Well, just like how Jessie had no number in the show, you could have just left her with no cutiemark.
Lol, how fitting for that base to be James

Well chose for all

Omg cute Percy! X3

And I've always found the base for Emily attractive, so this is indeed a superb choice

Ahem, I also like how there is a suggestion that Henry is a long endurance "stock horse" and Gordon is a nimble "race horse"

Sounds a lot like the p-47 thunderbolt and p-51 mustang fighter planes

I surmise that I would grow to like these manifestations quickly and very seamlessly

I'm inclined you did superbe work- of a critically precise surgeon - that's how well thought out and blended it is

Going through the wikia, Emily may have been built between 1870-1895, so she would be the oldest. As for the others, here's the order.

Edward - 1896
James - 1912-1913
Thomas - 1913
Toby - 1914
Henry - 1919
Gordon - 1920
Percy - 1931

You got Percy right, but Toby is younger then Edward, James, Emily and Thomas.

I got all my information from the TTTE Wiki, and nowhere on Emily's page does it state that she's one of the oldest engines.  Only Toby and Edward have that distinction on the page.

Still, the years also shown on the Wiki seem to contradict this.

Well, until I know differently, everyone's staying like they are.

There's no reference to Emily getting any jabs about her age, whereas Edward and Toby have gotten many of them.  Heck, Edward's actually gotten an episode or two centered around it.

Emily was built in 1870 and Edward was built in 1896 so Emily should be the old one

Hey, I'm just going by what the Wiki said.  To quote Edward's article: "While it is true he is the oldest engine on the North Western Railway - it must be noted he helped build it - he has proved time and time again that he is more than capable of working as hard as any engine, but he is a more clever and wiser engine, too."

You know its also posible that she was built in 1903

And that would make her younger than Edward.

Still, it makes you wonder which of the facts are true and which aren't.
