I'm not going to try to claim any beginnings this time. Art photography isn't that high up on my priority list, apparently, at least not to the point of posting lots of things over here. I occasionally post things to my blog, but those are snapshots. I also put photos in some of my eHow articles (name over there is Kayar), but those are even less intended to be art.
What I have been doing, though, is submitting things to BigStockPhoto.com. They have a strict quality filter in place for what they allow in - and I'm rejected about 75% of the time for all sorts of technical issues. Some were not quite in focus, some weren't well-lit, some were badly composed. Some had artifacts from overprocessing (basically, any amount of sharpening is too much sharpening) or (most recently) because I used the wrong film speed. It's been quite a learning experience.
So far I've gotten seven things past them, though. They're up at www.bigstockphoto.com/search/p…
if anyone wants to look.
