Commission Me Please :3

Journal Entry: Tue Nov 26, 2013, 10:37 AM
It's the most wonderful.....and expensive time of the year!   With the holidays just around the corner, I would like to raise a little extra money to help me through!   At this time of year I get a good number of days off of work, which sounds nice, but it ultimately means a dent in my paycheck :(

So please let me know if you would be interested in commissioning me!  You can find my commission information for ponies here: fav.me/d5zamy5

If you're interested in a commission other than ponies, please send me a note and I can work out a quote for you.

Your support would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks :D

Livestreaming

Journal Entry: Tue Jul 9, 2013, 6:04 PM

Livestreaming - Pardon my crappy DSL connection.  I may disconnect a few times.  I will be working on a character reference sheet and possibly another pony character.

Edit: Livestreaming off - may do more later tonight.

Pony Spam (sorry!) + Matsuri

Journal Entry: Mon Mar 25, 2013, 9:58 PM
To all my watchers who aren't pony fans, I apologize in advance for the slew of pony deviations you will see in a little bit.  (Please don't unwatch me!)  I promise I have other non-pony deviations in the works.  It's just that pony pieces don't take as long to finish and I did a number of them recently for commissions as well as gifts to friends.  On top of that, I wanted to update my pony commission sheet to get it ready for Anime Matsuri visitors!

On that note, if you are at all interested in having a pony drawn by me, please visit my pony commission information page here: kavaeka.deviantart.com/art/Pon…

These will help me get some desperately needed money for a car, tuition, etc.  Your support would be appreciated <3

That's it for now, I hope you all have been well :)

Sorry about the layout, it's a work in progress.  Anyway...It's been a crazy long time since I've last uploaded anything here!  With my trip to Korea last year and my computer becoming slow to the point where I couldn't do anything on it anymore, I hadn't had much chance to give deviantart my attention.  But hopefully in the coming months you'll see some new things from me.

Just last weekend I put together my own computer build for the first time (with a little help from my brothers to ensure I didn't catch the house on fire), and it is crazy faaast!  I went from a single-core processor with 1 gig of ram to a 6 core processor and 8 gigs of ram.  This was a massive upgrade!  I'm still getting used to the fact that my computer actually doesn't lag when I switch windows or when I have multiple HUGE art files open or when I have a ton of tabs open on Chrome.  Plus Windows 8 is AWESOME!  I think people have been complaining a bit too much about it.  Once you reinstall the start button it's smooth sailing from there.  Its a much cleaner, faster operating system.  But anyway, I have a thing about naming computers, and well this one is Valefor.  I've named her after Yuna's first summon, which I thought was appropriate considering this is my first computer build.  So at long last, my dear old computer Frederick is at rest.

So in my time away I've been working on commissions and a few personal pieces, which I hope to upload shortly.  My goal this year is to do more commissions and offer different types of commissions.  I also want to do more personal art that doesn't involve characters.  More steampunk.  Maybe dabble in some space art.  I've also been on a bit of an equestrian kick lately and I think it would be fun to bring in my own style into the realm of equestrian artists.  Maybe I'll try my hand at anthro characters.  Equipped with a brand spankin' new computer, I'm looking forward to doing a lot of art this year.

Why hello deviantart, it's been a while!  I've been kept off DA for a variety of reasons - I was sick for a month, and I also was in Seoul for 2 weeks.  I just got back a few days ago!  I'm still jet lagged, hence why I'm writing this at 5:12 in the morning.   I had an amazing time; Seoul is such a fun, quirky city....

Now that I'm back, I'm opening my pony commissions again; I hope that within the year I'll open up other types of commissions but for now, ponies it is.

*Note ponies samples are not to scale - click to view full size*

Commission Type A - Small, quick flat colors with or without gradients.

Commission Type B - Large, vector style flat colors with or without gradients.  These vectors are done in Paint Tool Sai, so they unfortunately are not resizable Adobe Illustrator vectors - Sorry!

Commission Type C - Large, fully shaded digitally painted pony.

Additional Ponies/Couples
Additional ponies are discounted at 40% off.  So if you ordered commission type A and wanted a second pony, the second pony would cost you $3 in addition to the first $5.

Additional Information
By default, I will draw all ponies based off the MLP FIM art style.  I can, however make the ponies a little more anime-esque, with longer legs/more detailed eyes, etc. if you are interested.

All pony commissions will come with the full size PSD and transparent PNG.  If you need it in another format, just let me know :)

Slots/Status
This is my first time taking commissions, so for now I will allow 5 commission slots to begin with just to see how I can take on the work load.  Should this be popular, I'll allow for a waiting list but grab your spot now - I'm posting this commission list on a good number of places so slots may fill up fast ;)

Ack - Time for a new journal.

Journal Entry: Thu Mar 1, 2012, 7:01 PM

Wow, I haven't done a journal at all this new year.  While I can't say anything new is going on, I guess I could let you all know that I will be offering commissions soon, I just need to get my price sheet up.  I probably will only do a limited number of slots at first just to test out how much of a workload I can take on.

Not much of an update, but at least something new for the front page.  ^.^

Holiday Featureee~!

Journal Entry: Fri Dec 23, 2011, 9:09 PM

RULES:

1. For each of the 20 first people answering this journal, I will put their avatar and the three deviations I like most from their gallery on the list!

2. If you answer, you have to do the same in your journal, putting the tagger on the first place. The idea of this is not to get a free feature, it is to spread art around for everyone!

Commission Prices - Too High? Too Low?

Journal Entry: Mon Nov 7, 2011, 1:07 AM

While I'm not completely ready to do commissions yet, I do feel that this is next on my agenda.  I'm currently working two jobs, but even still I'm struggling to save up for important essentials like a car, school, and medical expenses.  So with that said...

I've come up with a theoretical list of prices and I need some truly honest opinions.  Too expensive?  Or too cheap?

Bust:
-----
Sketch - $10
Lineart - $15
Full Color - $25 + $5 for backgrounds
-----
Full Body:
-----
Sketch - $15
Lineart - $25
Full Color - $35  + $5 for backgrounds

For additional characters, add half the cost of the type of style you're ordering.  (+$17.50 for Full Color for each additional character).
-----

Pony Commissions:
-----
Sketch - $5 add $3 for every extra pony.
Full Color - $10 add $5 for every extra pony.
-----

Chibi Commissions:
-----
Sketch - $5 add $3 for every additional chibi
Full Color - $10 add $5 for every additional chibi

I realize that some of these prices are much higher than what people are selling for on the DA forums (and to be honest, a lot of those folks are seriously underselling themselves and are ruining competition).... however, while my artwork might not be worthy of $200 dollars, I still do put a TON of time and effort in each piece no matter how big or small.  On top of that, I work on generously large canvases for future printing if one desires - and working in these kinds of sizes takes me a long time.  But please do leave me an honest opinion, I will consider any advice.

To all my new recent watchers -- thank you for adding me! :D  One thing you'll want to know is that I reply to comments/favs/watches/etc reallly slow, so I apologize if I haven't responded to something you've said just yet.

Coming Soon - Commissions, Etsy, Livestream, etc

Journal Entry: Tue Sep 27, 2011, 7:17 PM

So it has been a while since I last uploaded something but that'll change soon.

I'm almost finished with a rather emo-tastic picture of Cloud Strife.  I just have to tackle the background; you should see how jolly awful the background looks right now XD

My next art table might not be for a while but I've compiled a comprehensive list of things I'd like to do.  In short though, these are my major goals:

Final Fantasy Guys
Final Fantasy Girls
Sailor Moon Fanart
PONIES

Don't worry about fanart spam though, I'll try to intersperse my uploads with personal art as well--for one thing, I have a lot of character sheets to do.  So no touching the unwatch button! ;)

In other news, I've become even more addicted to social media/web communities than ever before.  I attribute this phenomenon solely to the fact that I'm not in school right now and therefore I have more time to play with these sorts of things XD.

Some of these sites though are actually keeping me on my toes as far as productivity goes;Except for tumblr though -- tumblr's just pure unadulterated distraction XD.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that there are several other places where you can follow me and my art or musings.

Tumblr
I don't post any art here, but it's still fun to follow:
kopaku.tumblr.com

Twitter
I don't use this one very often but I probably will once my etsy shop and website are set up.  My username is Rizurii in case the following link isn't working.
twitter.com/#!/Rizurii

Nabyn
I just opened this one today but the site looks promising!  Some of its features look kinda nifty.   My deviantart will remain my main source of art but Nabyn looks like a great place for my sketches and character archives.
kopaku.nabyn.com

Coming Soon

It's been taking me a while to get work done for these but my two major projects right now are my Etsy shop and my portfolio website/blog.  Once these are up, you'll surely know about it XD.  I've bought a lot of new clay supplies so I'm looking forward to creating and selling new things.

LIVESTREAMING!  --  I was trying this out the other day on my brother's fast laptop.  It works fairly well on it so I may do this occasionally.

Commissions

Long story short, I need money XD   I've been leery of doing commissions for the longest time, mainly because I take too long to create artwork.  But I'll likely be starting out with small, custom My Little Pony commissions (samples to come soon).

In summary, I've got a lot on my hands as far as life and art goes.  I have no idea in what order I'll accomplish these aforementioned goals but at least I have them written down now for me to keep track of.  Keep watching ^_^ <333

PONIES

Journal Entry: Tue Sep 20, 2011, 11:42 AM

So it's finally happened -- I've become a part of the herd.  I've been watching My Little Ponies Friendship is magic and I've succumbed to its cuteness XD   I've also been drawing ponies a bit....and I'm thinking of offering up custom pony commissions.  Is there anybody who would be interested?

ComicPalooza was...simply put...awesome!

Journal Entry: Tue May 31, 2011, 8:09 PM

And so at last I know what it is like to do a table at a convention.  My friend :iconmermaid-kalo: was awesome enough to let me share a table with her.

Without a doubt, this convention was a LOT of work.  There were a lot of late nighters, and by that I mean I wasn't in bed until after 3 in the morning working on stuff for the convention.  In the end though, it was all worth it.  I learned a lot of new things from this experience and met a lot of cool new people.

ComicPalooza was an interesting convention to start out at, especially since this was, of course, a comic book convention and not an anime one.  So the demographic was quite different.  There was a far greater age range for this convention than say, an anime convention.  At comicpalooza I saw everyone from babies to grandparents.  There was also more males lol, go figure.  At anime conventions, I'm much more used to seeing teenagers to young adults.  I hardly ever see anyone younger than 13 or older than 26 at anime conventions.  And there are usually more females at anime conventions.

The convention itself was GREAT, with a lot of thing to see and do.  I got to see the actor who plays Seamus Finnagan from the Harry Potter movies.  (He's really short XD but I loved his accent) .  The layout of artist alley was kinda meh.  It was very maze-like which had an impact on the traffic that artist alley tables got.  The extra walking space was great, but I think some of our tables were waay too spread out.  Some tables did not get nearly as much traffic as others.  Me and my friend's table were at an awesome location, but others weren't so lucky.  Hopefully they'll fix this issue next year; this is still a relatively new con so they're still learning things.

So let me tell you, there's nothing like a convention to kick you out of artist's block.  After seeing other artists, I feel inspired to create so many new pieces.  I'm already looking forward to doing a table again in the future and I already have some pieces in mind that I would like to draw for those conventions.

I'd like to give a huge thank you to all those who stopped by me and my friend's table!  You guys were awesome :D

Did you see me at ComicPalooza?

Journal Entry: Sun May 29, 2011, 5:32 AM

Don't be shy, say hi!  I'd like to give a special thank you to everyone who came by me and friend's table!

ComicPalooza

Journal Entry: Thu May 26, 2011, 8:35 PM

It's game time.  I've got my prints, bookmarks, buttons, and polymer clay pendants ready to go!  If you happen to be in Houston this weekend, I'll be at table 42B at artist's alley!

Phew

Journal Entry: Thu Mar 3, 2011, 7:32 PM

*dusts off journal*  It's been a while!  Not too much has been happening.  I just finished my last semester at my local community college, and I'm taking this semester off as I work toward transferring to a university.

As you can see, I haven't submitted anything as of late, but this very well may change :D.   I might be doing artwork for an upcoming comic booth convention, so watch out for a bit of fan art!  In fact, I am open to suggestions on what characters to draw.  You can respond here or over at my poll.

Like I said, not too much is going on though I am currently in the process of making a website.  This website will probably be part blog, part portfolio, part resource site.  Just another thing to look out for :D  Hope everyone is doing well ^_^
