Now I do. I didn't before. The older you get the more you come to realise how much you need them even with all their faults.

I did, mostly! My mother loved me unconditionally, but I had my spoiled lil shit moments. She pasted away when I was 17, so I tend to reexamine it all and wish I had been a better son.

My father died when I was 6, so I dunno. He and I got along well from what I remember.

Mostly, but it really depended. My brother was into a lot of shit so most of the focus was on him not me...so...yeah

Mostly yeah. They're very accepting of me and my lifestyle choices, sexuality and general oddness. We get along ok for the most part.

I tend to be a lot less inclined to deal with their shit though. Post-divorce bitching does not amuse the children to say the least.

My mom is accepting, but she just can't listen to save her life. Dad is a drunken idiot who only calls to rant about aliens taking over the world. Which is admittedly amusing, but not very helpful.

My Dad's kind of deaf unless he wants something, but we're past the stage of trying to kill each other, mostly he's wrapped up in the new family. Mum's just around. She loves us all and doesn't necessarily agree with what we do, but accepts that we will do what we want, namely because that's how they raised us to be.

I suppose the advantage of rapidly approaching 30 is that they kind of have to start taking you seriously too.
