The Crooked Blade Ch-9

           Kork casually walked backed into her lab and gave an annoyed sigh as she waited for Kat to come out of the BOBBY machine and when she did, she tripped over her own feet, rolled for a few yards then scurried back up to her feet and pounced on Kork. "Where she at huh? Huh? HUU-"

           Kork plucked Kat off of her angirly and turned her head to inside the lab "Stop being stupid...," she said suddenly turning Kat's face back to her not a happy camper expression and then released her ".... tsk... so noisy..." she mumbled under her breathe. Mongoose was sitting on a free space on the counter with a very drowsy and clueless expression on her face with slumped shoulders. Kat quickly snapped her out of her daze when she grabbed her by the shoulders and gave her one of her death-grip like hugs. "Mongoose-doodles~ I was soOoOo worried 'bouts yew~ Ya mades Kat-doodles all sads, and boo-hoo's, and bleh.... and then I pimped slapped Klay-jerk~" Kat spewed out the words in her normal hyper-active super cheery voice. "Wh-whaa..... K-Kat... c-c-c-an't... breathe...." Mongoose gasped. Kat hugged her even tighter earning a gasp from her friend "That's not important right now~! HWEEE~" Kat squealed happily totally ignoring Mongoose's decreasing oxygen supply.

           Kork flinched and then quickly pried (with the help of a trusty bat Klyde had made her from scraps of klay that Hoborg gave him) Kat away from Mongoose whom was now panting, she placed her rubber gloved ensealed hand onto Kat's face as the hyper 'hoodian tried to hug her friend again. "You did what to Klayton?" Kork asked sternly. Kat paused and stood up striaght and smiled, a few seconds later she demonstrated the slap she gave Klayton.... but to Kork; earning Kat a fist to the face. "Are you dumbtarted?! Where is he now?" Kork growled angirly grabbing Kat by the collar of her shirt.

          As if on cue, the sound of the BOBBY machine rand out and then the noises of a struggle began to faintly fill the air outside the lab. Mongoose backed up nervously and Kat darted passed Kork whom was staring coldly out of the lab with her club behind her back (Kat began to hug Mongoose again since Kork had let her 'guard' down). Suddenly Klayton made his appearence, he was being held back by Klyde whom looked horrified even more than before as Klayton trugged forward. Kork just stared in disbelife at Klyde's actions while Kat hissed guarded Mongoose. "Grrr blast it! Let. Go. Of. ME!" Klayton spat angirly at Klyde. "N-n-n-no you'll make her... mad!" Klyde grunted trying his hardest to prevent Klayton any access to Kork's lab. Klayton narrowed his eyes and sank his claws into one of Klyde's arm and tossed him over his shoulder and onto his back infront of him.

         Mongoose gasped and quickly held back Kat and whispred "N-no Kat! Stay b-back!" she stammered as Kat flailed around. Klyde quickly staggered to his feet with the horrible feeling of Kork watching him. "Oh great.... I can't belive this... right in front of her... I'm so stupid! Why here?" Klyde thought sadly as he coughed and slowly staggered to his feet and stumbled backwards into the lab, landing on his bottom and infront of Kork; whom sent a cold glare to Klayton. "Klayton, get out of here now..." Kork said calmly but for some reason sounded shaken. Klyde didn't want to look up, he just couldn't look at her, so instead his pressed his back up to her legs and stared on at the angry Klayton. "No, I know that thing is in there...." Klayton spat angirly. Kork sighed "I repeat, get... out...." she informed.

         "No! I'm not going to let some mediocre doctor stand in my way of my vows!" he retorted coldy. "N-n-now you see here!" Klyde said quickly standing up, but one of Kork's hand pushed him back down to the floor as she threw the club like a spear into Klayton's face. "WHEE~ RINGER!" Kat cheered happily hugging Mongoose. Klayton backed up and shook it off, then snorted "Hmph! Its not worth it... I'll be back... and as for you," Klayton sent the words over to Mongoose whom sank back holding her quivering tail "I'll cut you down... just you wait..." he informed as he angirly took out a bottle from his compartment and slammed it on the counter. Kork quickly snatched it and looked at a piece of paper that was inside of it, filled it up with the needed chemicals and placed it back on the counter. Klayton grabbed it and then paused and looked over at Klyde and stomped over, squating down to his level "I forgot something..." he growled as he pulled the dagger out of Klyde's shoulder. He then drank the chemical mixture and left in a huff.

        "Psh... what a butt..." Kat snorted crossing her arms before re-directing her attension to Mongoose and hugged her again. Kork stepped down onto one knee and began to examine Klyde's shoulder, though it was regenerating just fine, she still placed a bandage over it. Klyde looked down hiding a light blush and dared to look at Kork out of the corner of his eye. It was an expression he'd never really seen before, atleast an expression Kork never showed him. She wore the look of sympathy as she tied a knot on his bandage to prevent it from falling off (obviously). "K-K-Kork?... I'm... s-"

        "Are you okay?" she asked quickly. Klyde blinked a few times and without realizing responded "N-now tha-that... you-your h-he-here..." and then he froze. Suddenly, Kork's rubber glove glided across his face. "OoOoh~ Mr. Waka Waka-pants tried to steal first base~ Waka waka waka~" Kat grinned wiggiling her fingers. Obviously not wanting her friend to be punched by Kork, Mongoose waved her arms to catch Kat's attension, in which she stopped teasing Klyde and quickly went straight back to hugging the life out of Mongoose. "What in Quater's name got into you?! Doing something so reckless like that?" Kork scolded slipping her glove back onto her hand. Klyde was stunned and rubbed the side of his face where the sting still lingered "I-I-I'm s-s-sorry I didn't... I don't.. I-"

        "Oh just be quiet..." Kork grumbled rolling her eyes and stood back up, extending a hand to help the builder up. Klyde hesitated and accepted the hand in which Kork pulled him back up to his feet. "Ya sees that? Kork-doodles ya knocked him offs he's feet with yer charming-charm-skills~ GOO' FER YEW!" Kat gave a thumbs up to Kork. Sadly Mongoose flinched as Kat's face met Kork's fist. Though after the swing, Kork shrunk. Klyde quickly turned around and pushed two of his fingers together "She shrunk... that means she was shocked... which means.... maybe she... she's.... emabarresed? But wait, she only shrinks when she's shocked... did Kat's words take her off-guard?.... No that can't be right... because then why didn't she shrink when I said that?.... Oh I can't belive I said that..." Klyde pondered as he looked over his shoulder to see Kork regaining her 'normal' shrunken height.

         "Whatever...," Kork sighed with annoyance and looked over at Mongoose "now.. back to the current topic..." Kork began.
